Metacritic – Game Informer gives Halo: Reach a 95

Game Informer has given Halo: Reach its first review score, according to Metacritic, handing the Bungie shooter a 95/100.
According to the blurb posted on the site:
“Any disappointment series fans felt after ODST should be completely washed away thanks to Reach. Make no mistake about it – this is the true follow-up to Halo 3. It’s also a perfect way for Bungie to part with the series it turned into a phenomenon.”
Metacritic cites GameInformer’s October 2010 magazine as the source, with the review published on page 92.
That’s good news for Halo fans, then.
Reviews for the last Bungie foray into the Halo universe go live at 5.00am UK/midnight US – which is when the embargo lifts.
Halo: Reach is out September 14, officially.

GAYinformer reviews:
Positive: 1,722
Mixed: 1,139
Negative: 159
We have like 1722 good games or masterpieces,
1000 with mixed opinions and just 159 BAD games.
I think the gaming industry is just the best media ever created by humanity. Only 159 sucky games.

@8 or the most un-self critical. Although I presume you’re being rightly sarcastic.

Not surprising. The singleplayer is well crafted, the multiplayer is well established and Firefight and Forge offers tons of content. Any real complaint is in the length of the singleplayer campaign. It’s a bit short.

@8 You definitely did say that
Man I am 39 and can’t believe how fucking excited I am about this.
I remember my girlfriend importing me an xbox with Halo : combat evolved for xmas 2001…Silent Cartographer is still my favourite gaming moment ever.
I need to complete it before Fable III comes out and she hogs the xbox for the rest of the year.

I’m quietly hopeful this will be the last true Halo game, that I have to feel left out on.

From what I can tell (after watching the ending, seeing forge world, firefight) it’s totally deserved.
Halo isn’t for me so unless LoveFilm are incredibly kind to me, I doubt i’ll play it!

How does it prove anything? If they give a low score, you laugh and say, told you so… if it’s high score, you scream fixed… Typical haters… bash something that won’t even ever play because they don’t have the console… stop hatin! j e a l o u s y
