Sakamoto: An Other M sequel “cannot be possible” without Team Ninja

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, gaming’s – to our knowledge – only team of T&A-loving ninjas isn’t going anywhere, according to Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto.
“As far as my opinion is concerned if we are going to make something similar to Metroid: Other M in the future I cannot think that it would be possible for Nintendo to make it without collaborating with Team Ninja,” he told CVG.
If Nintendo decides not to cook up The Other, Other M, however, Sakamoto does have an “it’s not you, it’s me” speech prepared for Team Ninja.
“But if I’m going to decide that it’s going to be a different story for the next Metroid adventure then depending on the skills, know-how and technology that might require, Team Ninja might not be the choice for us to collaborate with,” he explained.
Sounds like you need to start sucking up to Sakamoto stat, Team Ninja. He bought a new tie, you say? And it looks just plain awful? No! Don’t say that! Tell him it’s the most beautiful thing you’ve seen since you caught a glimpse of The Other M’s sterling Metacritic average. So, you know, be subtle.
Thanks, Prof.Dr.Moertel.

Incidentally, if they do make a sequel it should be called Another M.

The next Metroid game should either be a 3D remake of Super Metroid for the 3DS or a game that goes completely 2D in the side-scrolling way. I was never really all that into the first person view for Metroid. I’m just an old-school grouchy old man that likes my Metroid like the old days.

Also, it cannot be possible without great sales numbers from this one and so far, sales numbers aren’t good (Looks at UK Sales).

Here’s hoping Team Ninja don’t want to do another one, then.

@3 technically EMEA has always been the worst market for the Metroid series. I know vgchartz are skewed but even taking some discrepancies the figures posted there are that it’s never sold more than .7 mil in that region. So these figures are a bit ordinary.
Also taking into account that according to their figures the best ever sales was for the first prime globally totally 2.5 mil and corruption was 1.5something this should hit expectations most likely.
Their expectations probably would be somewhere around 1 mil overall and that makes sense. It does seem as if this game mostly sells to a fanbase and this game opens it up a tiny bit more.

Could Samu have her larynx ripped out at the start of the sequel, make her mute again AND make the reason canon! Win-win!
