Video shows first 10 minutes of Spider Man: Shattered Dimensions

A video for Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions has popped up, showing the game’s opening ten minutes.
Throughout the video we see the various guises of Spiderman and his abilities in combat and non-combat situations.
It’s looking very polished; let’s hope it plays as well as it looks.
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions is out next week on Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and DS.

I was going to say that it looks abit crappy (i mean the overall game, visuals are pretty nice), but yeah actually, it just looks like a game aimed at kids.

i had low expectations for this game & for good reasons, isn’t aimed at me, it’s aimed for children. =\

I had low expectations because it was Activision.
In the last 3-4 years they didn’t made a single decent game. All their games (Including Call Of duty franchise) is just a dice roll.
some games sell because people are hungry for certain genres.
Activision are masters at PR it’s in their DNA and thats it.
I wish Blizzard could be independent again. When they came to Activision so much failure started. From World Of Warcraft pets for money, to Starcraft II (same game, but polished and in 3D) just because Koreans need that same style, casual World Of Warcraft expansion packs.

@6, Transformers: WFC was pretty good, also enjoyed prototype & i have high expectations for True Crime: Hong Kong, loved the prequels.
But i do agree that ActiVision isn’t a really great company,
only notable games i remember from them in their earlier days were the original Spider Man game & the Tony Hawk’s series, which were kind of crap after the Pro Skaters & plain ruined with the perephial based games

^ All of the voices are annoying, i havent heard voice acting that bad from a game for a long time. But again, maybe they’re cheesy and over the top to appeal to kids. Its the only defence i can think of for this game.

“Is that a … cartoon-pig?”
I actually like what i see. The humor is perfect and thank god it’s not trying to be as dark as the previous games.
@9: The guy at the beginning is STAN FUCKING LEE!!!! Òó”

As an avid Marvel comics reader for over almost 20 years, I can comfortably say that this looks absolutely bloody terrible.
The script is shockingly bad (there’s a difference between appealing to kids and just being plain shit,as anyone who watched the wonderful Spectacular Spiderman series can attest to), the voice acting is horribly despite having some of the character’s most legendary voices behind him, and the gameplay is both dull and regressive – the web-swinging looks weightless, and the combat is dull.
I’ll pass.

All future Spiderman devs: Go back and look at the web slinging mechanics from Spiderman 2 before you even start and just COPY THEM ENTIRELY AND PRECISELY because they were PERFECT. Everything else ever has looked like ass.

The web slinging does look a bit…lumpy. Shame
