Duke Nukem gameplay hits YouTube

Some new gameplay footage for Duke Nukem forever has hit YouTube, showing both a boss battle and some enemies being gunned down with a large weapon.
It’s not the greatest footage in the world, but it does give you an idea of how the game is shaping up and just how frantic it’s going to be.
Duke Nukem Forever was announced at the weekend and Steph was there to see the game, test it out and interview the developer.
It’s scheduled for release next year on PC, PS3 and 360.

Looks really quite respectable from that. Really great to see all those years of work aren’t going to be consigned to the scrap heap.

To me it looks like another generic shooter with dumb AI and the usual “big guns”. Should better be prepared to stand up against Bulletstorm and Rage. The old one was cool though.

I don’t think it’s gonna be an amazing game, but neither will Bulletstorm or Rage. None of those games do anything that hasn’t been seen before, but hopefully Duke will at least be outrageous and funny, rather than the standard ultra-serious pseudo-plot you get with most games today.

I don’t care if the new Duke is generic with dumb AI and big guns, if it’s anything like Duke 3D then day one purchase… no even better I’ll pre-order it.

DNF is the games press’ news of the week.
By that I mean, it’s the topic no one real, gives a shit about, but people are writing about becuase it’s being written about so much.

@5 I’ll preorder like 15 copies, just so I have a few to give to my grandchildren many years from now.
Chances are the next Duke will only be half-finished by then.
Seriously though, if you don’t buy this game, you’re one sad wretch of a gamer. I’m so impressed, as always, by all the morons pretending like it isn’t a big deal. You guys are so anti-establishment. So brave. You see through the bullshit. No, really.

@7 It depends if the game is actually good.
For now there is only 12 year of hype for the hugely successfull game in the past.
These times are over + it’s Gearbox and long development (In most cases long development mean that the game is …..).
I want Duke Nukem, but i want first of all a Great Game. So i need a decent gameplay reveal trailer.

Well, tbh there wasn’t much to go on there.
Lighting and shadows looked pretty decent in the middle one? Thatt’s about all I got right now.
Loved the use of the Megadeth Duke Nukem song though.

Its like Daikatana never happened. Be careful what you wish for folks; DNF might be released in your lifetime.
It really needs a tagline like ‘Some things should stay dead’ though.

@10 Absolutely. Daikatana. Perfect example.
Long in prodution
Why it is awesome? Because we have Romero in house.
In the end a huge FAILURE.

Do we know why they didn’t release an official video? Seems weird given that they must’ve known full well that there’d be a ton of shaky-cam stuff from the PAX floor.

Pitchford talks about it in the interview. Says they didn’t want to make promises.

and if it gets rated as the worst pile of shit in gaming ever, i will still get it. Just because Gearbox/2K/Pitchford/ex-3DRers didnt let him die.
Always bet on the duke!
No, better go all in on him
