Duke Nukem Forever hitting PS3, 360 and PC “sometime in 2011″
Gearbox, as has been heavily rumoured this week, has just confirmed that Duke Nukem Forever will finally release, with dev boss Randy Pitchford confirming the game is coming next year.
The news will delight and stun those who’ve followed the shooter’s development.
Pitchford has just confirmed the game will release on PC, 360 and PS3.
In a short movie, the Duke was shown lighting a cigar, saying he’d “hit” a monster with tits and “taking a piss in the John,” according to VG247′s Steph Nunneley, who was one of a handful of journalists to see the game in Seattle this morning.
Aliens, “pig monsters” and what looked to be vehicle combat were also show.

Duke Nukem Forever was first announced in 1997, and became a legendary project in that it simply never came out.
3D Realms went bust in May 2009 thanks to a lack of funding, and was subsequently sued by Take-Two over lack of delivery and the small matter of $12 million.
Take-Two retained the rights to the game. Rumours surfaced at E3 that Gearbox was now in charge of the project, which finally surfaced last month.

the only thing that can save this game is gameplay.
This is ID TECH 4. Brink on that engine looks something like Next Gen, but this…. This supposed to be out 7 years ago on the Original Xbox and PC.

Torrent? A good PS3 version will guarantee good sales: a lot of PS3 gamers in their 30-s, so they remember Duke since all of them were PC gamers once. Also, it’s coming for 3 platforms and the sheer hype will generate decent sales.

@84 They are just finishing what 3D Realms made, on numerous ocasions Broussard said that they are making only a PC version. So I am based on that for my statement. I just hope that the 2K don’t pull something like we are deleying the PC version for polishing, because they are working with PC version.

@99 It’s not Take Two, it’s their studio Gearbox. They’ve done Borderlands and the Brothers in Arms series, both of which are great and unusual games in my oppinion.
But as I understand it they’re using a substantial ammount of people from the old team out of 3D Realms.
@96 As I understand it it’s lacking polish, but they actually have more content than they could ever put in the game, so I think the time is gonna be spent cutting levels and putting in the finishing touches on the ones they do keep.
