Mikami: Motion controls not mainstream for "10 years"

move2

Waggle all you want; Shinji reckons it'll be another decade before motion control is in the "mainstream".

"I don't think motion controls will be in the gaming mainstream in the next ten years," Mikami told UK mag PSM3.

"When the technology gets to the point where you can just flick your eyeballs around and the computer can pick it up, you won't need a controller anymore. Obviously it's going to take a while to get there."

The Resident Evil legend was speaking before this year's launch of Kinect for 360 and Move for PS3.

Obviously, this all depends on what you mean by "mainstream". Wii appears to have done all right for itself.
