    Some pretty good impressions so far, everyone seems impressed with the precision.

    Now all we need are some decent innovative games from publishers other than Sony.

    mainly wii quality games right now by the look of things, let’s hope we get some kind of star wars move enabled game :D aslong as the lightsaber does not act like a baton =\

    @11
    I think some reviewers didn’t realise Tumble is a PSN release – not a fully boxed product. Joystiq may not have tested MP either – IGN found it to be a bit broken – which is a shame.

    The problem with a lightsaber in any game is that if it was made a good as it is meant to be then it would be a little unbalancing. :).

    even a psn game involving killing hordes of droids/rebels/stormtroopers/clones would be kick-ass! tho i know what you mean in the case of a full pledged game, 1 sucessful strike & it’s victory in multiplayer

  21. Gadzooks!

    Well that’s a very dissapointing set of reviews, not that I expected anything more than Wii games.

    The only 2 I games I was vaguely interested in were Kungfu Riders and Tumble, which after those reviews I am definitely not interested in anymore.

    I notice there are still problems using the PSEye in less-than-perfect lighting condition – even with the silly glowing ball. That’s completely unacceptable, a real deal breaker.

    I was hoping Move would provide something interesting to get me using the PS3 again, but it isnt going to happen judging by this very poor showing.

    A future consisting of bad Wii clones, substandard multiplat ports and sequels to games I didnt like means I’ll be saying goodbye to my PS3 and trading up for a 360S/Kinect bundle, or maybe go back to having the Wii as my second console, where at least the games have charm.

    #21 5 years ago
  22. Patrick Garratt

    OK, that’s all done. I’ve put in another two Kotaku articles as well.

    Typical launch lineup really. Some good, some bad but mostly just passable stuff. I’ll be there day one with a copy of Sports Champions ready to go. The Shoot and The Fight will be bought soon after, and hopefully we’ll get Time Crisis soon enough.

    I’ve also got Resi 5, gold edition on the way. Lots of Move goodness in the coming weeks.

    Was only interested in Sports Champions and Tumble from the initial batch. Based on the reviews SC is as I expected – so fine. Tumble has had a mixed bag, but some have really liked it so it will come down to price. Less than £10 and I’ll get it.

    EG stuff going up now …

    SC – 7/10 – http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-09-01-sports-champions-review
    “But it’s important not to overlook Sports Champions’ redeeming features – the high quality of the better mini-games, and the Move itself. The technology works and this game proves it. The Archery, Table Tennis and Bocce games have real depth and longevity. While the other offerings aren’t brilliant, they’re not bad.”

    I want but there is just WAY TOO many games coming out from now through Christmas…So I will look to purchase this maybe next March, 2011? Unless there is some KILLER game that comes out between now and then, but I don’t think there will be.

  41. OlderGamer

    About what I expected to be honest.

    Likly going to be a set of good Wii-Sports rip off games.

    The rest of the line up and offerings will most likly end up being crap.

    Just like the Wii.

    Not sure why anyone would have expected more.

    #41 5 years ago
  42. DrDamn

    @40
    I think that is the nub of the problem. The tech is great but I think there does need to be some sort of killer app for it to really take off. Certainly to expand the PS3 user base. I may be happy to replace my Wii with a Sport knock off and taking into account regular game enhancements. That isn’t going to bring many people in though is it?

    #42 5 years ago
  43. Crysis

    Maybe they should revisit some popular arcade games, Time Crisis is looking awesome, i would like to see more of those arcade styled games, but not as full retail price =\

    #43 5 years ago
  44. NiceFellow

    @42 it’s too early to make that call. With Socom 4, RUSE, KZ3 and other such titles also supporting Move it may well offer and support more than pure family/casual titles.

    Remember, decent support for core titles has already been announced for Move, and until we see how they go we can’t make such assumptions

    #44 5 years ago
  45. DrDamn

    @44
    That was what I was talking about when I said “regular game enhancements”. I don’t really see Socom 4, KZ3, RUSE support adding to the PS3 user base though. It will sell Move units sure, and it something I’m looking forward to, but expand the PS3 market? Not so sure.

    #45 5 years ago
  46. OlderGamer

    @44

    The trouble is that having support for move isn’t the samething as having move enhance or improve upon the game experience.

    For some games Move/Wii motion controls not only work but offer you something you can not experience with a standard controler.

    Bowling, tennis, golf. For examples.

    But the core titles and(the games you mentioned) are played by legiens of core gamers that wield their standard controler with its duel thumbsticks and 16 buttons rather well. Even if the move worked for those games, many if not most would find it awkward at best and most likly want to stick with their Duel Shocks to begin with.

    I really think people need to ask them not does move work, but will move make my game experience better?

    #46 5 years ago
  47. theevilaires

    Can’t wait for this damn thing to come out, I’m getting two complete sets and R.U.S.E. which I’ve never played those type of games before but since the MOVE support is being highly spoken of in that game I’m become a new fan of that genre.

  50. OlderGamer

    Hey Tea make sure you check out my updated Live profile.

    You will smile.

    I do think you should take a wait and see approach to Move tho. I have spent a good deal of time trying to enjoy the Nintendo Wii. Beyond WiiWare and VC. There isn’t much to enjoy, and of the stuff I do enjoy(like the New Supper Mario Bros. Wii) I use the classic controler.

    I know it is a PS3 thing so your excited, but temper your enthusiam. Or might get burned.

    That being said, because I already own the cam(from Eye of Judgement), I too al thinking about buying the wand and a sports package for my PS3 this holiday.

    I just want to read more reviews from real people outside of the industry. Too much hype around it right now to get a good reading imo.

    #50 5 years ago
  51. DrDamn

    @46
    This is one of the advantages Move has over the Wii – it can be added as an option to games and doesn’t *have* to be a primary controller. If done well I think it will add to the games listed above. The key is that if it isn’t done well or you don’t get on with it you can just stick with the standard controller.

    Well O.G. thats because you guys have all owned a Wii or had a lot of time to be in that motion control for a while. I was never interested in a Wii after I tried it once and the motion just wasn’t accurate enough for me. MOVE seems to be a lot more precise so now I get to experience these motion controls from the start like it should have been 4 years ago.

    Plus I’m such a dork and sucker for doing simple cool things like using the MOVE controller to navigate the XMB. Thats awesome to me. MOVE is worth that alone to me :D Sure I could use my BD remote but just the wave gesture is sweet. I’m not waiting for anyone one else review. I saw everything I needed to see that impress me enough to be a day 1 buyer of this. Engadget has a cool video review.

    This is rather off topic… but you’re old enough to have a daughter TEA? I’m utterly astonished.

    Edit – That sounded like a dig, it isn’t, I just always pictured you as in your late teens. Though I guess it’s technically possible you could have a daughter of gaming age and that still be right.

    On topic, when is this out anyway? I need to grab myself a wand to try out some demos.

    When you folks give this thing a go and put in thro its paces fill me in on your thoughts will ya? Post in the forums or something.

    I am interested, but the wands are 50usd, the handheld companion controler(not sure what to call that thing) is 40usd. And that is w/o a game. They do have bundles advertised for 100usd, but I already have a cam, and would like to piece it together one step at a time and for less cash up front if i could.

    Plus I want to know if it really is worth the price or is it just a Wii in HD?

    So give me/us some feedback. I trust real people on this site awhole lot more then the hype wagon that parades along in most sites.
