Looky here. Someone’s gone and put up what look very much like the first direct-feed shots of Batman: Arkham City.

There’s 20 in total, and you can get them below. They’re from this Flickr account.

Some shots feature Two-Face, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and the Dark Knight himself. No Joker, though.

Take a look below. Looking very promising, this is, innit.

Arkham City’s out next year for PS3, 360 and PC.

I just hope there is better boss battles that play of the villians themes, such as Two Face is all about duality so make the boss battle involve that.

These are the PC screens by the way. You just need to look at the level of Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering within those images.

Wow, wow, WOW!!!! Man, Harley is looking HOT, I hope she has more outfits here (I miss more skin!) and Batman, well is looking the same…but I hope we manage to see Burce Wayne here…and Alfred, and Catwoman too is HOT. THANKS Nolan and Rocksteady to give Batman the kind of entertainment deserved!!! Before that, only acceptable stuff was the series and the Mask of the Phanstasm movie.

New Harley Quinn looks a bit too gothic like… Still, uber awesome.

    #27 4 years ago
  28. Gekidami

If the Harley Quinn character should ever appear in one of the Batman movies she should definitely look like that.
Seems abit odd her not having her usual costume in this though. Seeing as the games are based in the comics/animated series universe and that everyone else seems to be wearing their ‘traditional’ gear.

Jesus. If I can play a game that looks like that in real time, I will be a happy bunny. What sort of a card am I gonna need? Somthing better than my 9600GT I assume!

  31. CenoBit

Why does each and every character in Arkham games looks like either a transvestite or a gay toned-up poster-boy?
I really think they should reconsider the body designs. They are unrealistic and kinda stupid

    #31 4 years ago
  32. Stephany Nunneley

@31 They look no different body-wise than any superhero in a DC or Marvel comic, really.

    #32 4 years ago
  33. Moonwalker1982

    @ 31

Arkham Asylum was exactly the same as this in that aspect,i got no problem with it. I think its based on the Batman comics, but not the “Batman adventures’ comics, but more like The Dark Knight. I don’t know the exact names of the comics, but it had a much more buff looking Batman and other characters.

    #33 4 years ago
  34. Gekidami

I dont see it. Sure Batman is ‘buff’ but the guys he’s beating on arent all body builders.

is it wrong to be slightly aroused at the catwoman pic?

    @35 – notatall ;)

@31 – i guess i can see what you’re saying but srsly gears is WAAAAAYYYY worse.

  37. The Hindle

Im thinking these screens are photoshopped or touched up.

    #37 4 years ago
  38. Gekidami

^ Probably. Still, i doubt its to far from the final result.

    #38 4 years ago
  39. daytripper

@37 maybe but i remember a interview from the batman dev team on a podcast not long ago stating the game will look better than the 1st and perform better thanks to better engine techniques.

    #39 4 years ago
  40. revolting

@37 I dunno, they look fantastic, but no more fantastic than B:AA1 did on a high-end PC. They actually look pretty much the same as the first game on a good setup. Batman himself is identical, right down to the finer details of the superb high-res texturing. Same for the environments – obviously more city-like and lively than the asylum environment, but no more technically spectacular.

@31 Batman is always going to be a buffed gentleman in a glorified gimp suit consiting largly of tights and a pair of leather panties, so I’m not sure what else you’re expecting there (although, much like the Nolan movies, this series has done a fantastic job of making it more armour-like), but as for the rest of them… just not seeing it. Maybe subconciously projecting, a little?

Totally agree, i’ve got the PC version of Batman:AA on full settings and those images above of the second game look no better from the first game, graphically, on that platform.

Rocksteady went to town for Batman: AA on the PC and it shows.

What PC gamers are getting today (those with decent rigs), will come to next gen consoles tomorrow.

New info found on N4G from OXM: Spoilers

Arkham City is four or five times larger than Arkham Asylum.
    - The game starts by being briefed by Alfred, he explains the Two-Face vs Catwoman situation and you start heading to the area where the two are located.
    - Batman is now much more agile, he is now able to plunge into a dive mid glide to accelerate flight.
    - Two-Face has a gang roaming Arkham City, you will find them wearing face masks replicating their boss’.
    - Criminals who aren’t connected with any super villains roam the street.
    - Story suggests that Professor Strange has been kidnapping Gotham citizens who are opposed to Arkham City.
    - One and half years after the original game.
    - Use new detective mode to discover a thugs super villain boss. This will be used to find The Riddlers men.
    - The Riddler is in Arkham City, they hint you are almost certain to come face to face with him.
    - Jack Ryder has been put into Arkham City due to him becoming to close to the truth on the city while working on an expose. Rocksteady were hesitant to reveal what Ryder had uncovered.
    - Your first meeting with Two-Face is early on in the game. You are greeted with him displaying Catwoman tied up side down to a baying crowd of criminals. His two conflicting personalities being voiced out loud.
    - Two-Face decides Catwoman’s fate with the iconic coin toss. She gets lucky this time.
    - The first confrontation with Two-Face results in Batman getting shot in the chest only for Catwoman to slip out of her chains and hit Two-Face into the acid she was about to be chucked into. A flirtatious conversation is then held between Catwoman and Batman only to be interrupted by a smiley face sniper dot rolling up Catwoman’s suit. The shot is fired and misses her by a whisker.
    - Your first detective mode experience is finding the bullet hole on the floor and figuring out its trajectory.
    - Trajectory reveals the location of the shot. A bell tower housed by the Joker.
    - Joker has a potentially fatal desease.
    - Calendar Man is confirmed.
    - The date and time effect your interaction with Calendar Man, set your console of PC’s time a month ahead from last and you will receive a completely different conversation.
    - Batman’s launcher has received an upgrade, you can now stop at anytime instead of being forced to the end every time.
    - You are pitted against a lot more thugs at once compared to the original game.
    - Increased amount of combat animations.
    - Phone booths ring only for thugs to stand by it, afraid to answer. Rumours going round suggest anyone that answers these calls end up dead.
    - The mysterious caller ends up being Victor Zsasz, this starts one of many side quests in the game.
    - To start the side quest you must follow a number of ringing phone boxes only to greeted with him at the final one.
    - Co-Op seems to be hinted. Catwoman has very similar combat techniques to Batman when in game.
    - Rocksteady suggest Crime Alley will make an appearance.
    - Rocksteady insist that the only confirmed villains so far are the ones you have seen.
