Guild Wars 2′s necromancer detailed, glowing eyes confirmed

An MMO necromancer that’s a “practitioner of the dark arts” and can “cheat death”? Who knew?
ArenaNet’s dropped full details on Guild Wars 2′s necromancer, as you can see here.
This dude raises the dead. He has glowing eyes. He has a stick. He “feeds on death and decay”. He’s a “real swell guy”.
The necromancer’s key trick is to continue fighting after death. Rather than “dying” when he runs out of health, he automatically activates his Death Shroud ability, meaning he can continue fighting in ghost form form until “he either runs out of life force or he gets a kill, rallying back into his own corpse.”
We got to talk to Guild Wars 2′s developers at gamescom, and they’re either unwisely confident or they have a game-changing product on their hands.
The video below, showing a necromancer in action, suggests the latter.
It’s out next year. Watch the reveal trailer here.

I recently bought the complete collection for my laptop, and i am loving it. Not a big pc gamer at all, but i am gonna continue playing this. I am used to RPGS like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, so this is a bit different but great nonetheless. GW2 looks crazy.

100% free, just like Guild Wars and its expansions. That’s why i really apreciate this so much. You buy it and then you can play whenever you want, no monthly fees. Incredibly large worlds, a true adventure with lots of players. Loving it.

@ 4
Really? In what ways will GW2 be so much different from GW?

@5 A persistent world like most MMORPGs, reactive story elements that will change things in the world depending on whether players succeed or fail at quests, race choices on top of class professions, and a significantly higher level cap (80).
That’s just off the top of my head.
