Kitase confirms winter 2010 Japanese release for 3rd Birthday, 2011 for Europe

the 3rd birthday

3rd Birthday producer Yoshinori Kitase has confirmed to VG247 the PSP game, the third in the Parasite Eve series, will release in Japan this coming winter, with a 2011 launch to follow for Europe.

The only release timeline given for the game previously was 2010 in Japan dropped by Square Enix president Yoichi Wada back in April.

"The Japanese version's going to come out in winter this year," Kitase said to us at gamescom last week via his translator.

"And we've already started localising the game for overseas versions. So we're hoping to release it sometime rather soon after the Japanese release, but we can't specify an exact time."

When asked if was it a 2011 launch for elsewhere, Kitase simply answered, "Yes".

Kitase's also confirmed that Square is looking to re-release the first two Parasite Eve games to help ease new players into The 3rd Birthday.
