gamescom Portal 2 gameplay vids show bouncy stuff

portal25

Valve put out two new gameplay vids of Portal 2 this evening, showing the game’s Faith Plate and Repulsion Gel in action.

Both of them make you bounce. One is a fixed plate. The other in a liquid. Both look mind-bending. The gel footage, in particular, doesn’t look like the easiest thing in the world to get your head around.

These two videos were shown last week in Germany.

See for yourself. The game’s out next February for PC, PS3 and 360.

This game will be a real pain to beat.. how about trying to Plat it!
I’m really excited to get my hands on it, but afraid I can’t feel satisfied by only finishing it, if I were able to do that first xD

I’m really hoping that they don’t over-complicate this to the point of ruining it. Half of the original’s charm was that it was a very small, well-defined set of mechanics.

It looks like it’s going to be much much harder, but then again it might (and probably will) get to the point that your brain will adjust and you’ll start thinking with portals and all the new associated guff organically.

I am thooper thooper thtoked.

I can’t believe how difficult this looks. Don’t get me wrong, I like a challenge, but I’m not exactly a metal-slug kind of guy.
