Sony offering PlayStation Protection Plan to PS+ subs at a discount

Sony has announced it's to offer the PlayStation Protection Plan to PlayStation Plus subscribers at a discounted cost.
According to Sony, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to purchase a two year PS3 plan for 25 percent off regular sub-price of $59.99 for $44.99 instead.
A one year plan will run you $44.99 anyway, so this means Plus members get two years for the price of one; however, in order to get in on the plan, the PS3 in question must still be under the one-year original manufacturer’s warranty.
