Parasite Eve 1, 2 PSN releases being looked at, says Kitase and Nomura
Nostalgia, it’s your lucky day. 3rd Birthday producer Yoshinori Kitase’s told VG247 a PSN release of Parasite Eve 1 and 2 is being looked at.
Kitase told us at a roundtable interview last week at gamescom that Square Enix was “aware” of demand for a release of the series’s first two horror titles alongside The 3rd Birthday.
“We are aware of the demand,” said Kitase via a translator, “so that we are closely considering the possibility of making it available for classics.
“Obviously, Parasite Eve 1 and 2 are not only owned by [Square Enix], they are also owned by Hideaki Sena [The author of the Parasite Eve novel]. But we hope it’ll be there.”
You’ve got a second rower in Nomura
Kitase isn’t the only one hinting at the possibillty of the re-release: artist Tetsuya Nomura is teasing as well.
“But, before The 3rd Birthday I’d like to do something for the numerous requests for the archives [version] of 1st and 2nd,” Nomura said on The 3rd Birthday’s Twitter (via Siliconera).
The 3rd Birthday is out sometime this year for PSP in Japan.

Man SONY needs a way to add trophies to these old classics that you can only unlock while playing the game on PS3.

Would be awesome. I lost the discs for the first one and have been wanting to play it for awhile. I can’t wait.
@TEA they won’t add trophies to the game. Why would they? And do any Ps1 games actually have trophies?

@3 He’s saying they should add trophies support to PS1 downloads. Personally I think it would be a neat idea, but it may not realistically be possible, as its running off emulation.
Adding any new coding on top of that could cause any number of bugs and problems. It’s not the same as remaking the game directly.

You’re right O’Connor it probably would cause crazy issues. BFBC2 kept freezing my PS3 and thats a game made this gen. Although I think the CELL could handle any PS1 game alone its probably best they don’t.
But can you imagine the money SONY would make off the trophy whores with that. Wouldn’t mind playing FFVIII all over again like it was my first time

You could probably do it in a half-arsed way by basing the achievements off of the save files and only awarding them after a write. That way you’re not interfering with the emulation directly.

True. That could be a solution. Better than that damn $10 fee they are trying to mimic E.A. from. These people are so stupid at SONY. They don’t know how to make people willingly give them their money they kind and peaceful way.
trophies equal money, just like jewels and precious metals equal money to certain people. Why don’t these jack asses get that?

I’ve played both games back in the Psone days,they’re both good but the 1st one is way much better than the 2nd.Very interesting plot,good gameplay and one of the best soundtracks in gaming history (piano theme)

id love too see a ps3 version of parasite eve i loved playing that game on ps one.
