Realtime Worlds is currently chatting up multiple buyers “in both the UK and US,” according to Paul Dounis, the firm’s administration consultant from Begbies Traynor.

Speaking with Edge, Dounis said RTW is “actively pursuing expressions of interest which have come from both the UK and US”, and “The game [APB] will continue and that is something we want all customers to be aware of.”

Dounis also confirmed 53 positions held by 210 staffers had been retained at the Dundee studio, while the US-end in Boulder, Colorado, had 14 jobs retained out 42.

He added trade creditors in the UK are “owed in the region of £3 million”.

The news of RTW’s troubles starting trickling out last week.

Thanks, Joystiq.

This won’t help the “staffers” but will line the pockets of the “uppers”..biz as usual in the gaming industry!

Well, whoever can snatch Dave Jones, can tout GTA in the TV advert.

    Of course Activision are interested.

Infact Realtime worlds next REAL game, can have the BETA for the next CoD. It’d work.

I’d love Sony to snatch them up though. /fanboy

At 8.30pm yesterday the administrators met with representatives for the MyWorld Team.

We were informed that the project would carry on but with a skeleton crew so that the IP can be sold to an interested party.

This interested party will try and complete the deal this weekend for the IP and also the reduced team.

This certain interested party was also interested about a month ago just after we were told our jobs were at risk.

This interested party is also associated with some of the board members of Realtime Worlds and is in fact one of them.

So not only have they made 40 people redundant on the MyWorld team, they have not paid us for this month!

We are not getting any actual money from Realtime Worlds yet they are still operating and we have to go to the government and fill in forms which will take months we are only going to get around £380 statutory redundancy for each year served and they can’t even do the decent thing and pay us what we are owed.

We are unlikely to get paid from the sale of the IP as this will go back to the other shareholders that got ripped off. They will move the team to another location and set up shop under a new name like nothing happened in the next 4 weeks.

A similar thing this afternoon for APB, they are keeping a team of around 40 people to make sure they can sell it if they can.

I have no money to feed my family next week, I cannot pay my mortgage. Yet they can play trading the IP game like ping pong and destroy our lives.

So they will be hailed as the saviors of the RTW team as they helped save the 20 jobs on MyWorld and the 40 or so on APB yet these are the same people that destroyed RTW in the first place and left us without our wages or notice money.

In order that everyone is informed of the meeting this evening at 8.30pm, I would confirm that a list of proposed staff retentions was circulated for employee representatives to consult with colleagues. For information, a total of 23 positions were included within that list. I understand that those present will make arrangements to circulate this, however copies are available after 9am from Meeting Room 1b tomorrow morning should you wish to collect this.

I would advise that to allow a period of consultation with your colleagues, a further meeting will be held at 10.30am tomorrow morning in order that feedback and comments can be provided by the employee representatives to the joint administrators. We would thereafter propose a period of consideration of this feedback and to allow any further adjustment before we meet again with the employee representatives at 12.30 to provide any revised proposals for consideration. A further meeting would be held around 1.15pm to allow the employee representatives to make any final comments for the joint administrators consideration. We would then intend holding a meeting for all MyWorld project employees at 2.30pm when we would announce the outcome of the consultation exercise.

I very much appreciate your input throughout the day today and for the willingness to work with us into the evening. I look forward to a constructive dialogue continuing tomorrow.

    Yours sincerely
For and on behalf of Paul Dounis and Ken Pattullo
Joint administrators of Realtime Worlds Limited in administration

    David Menzies
    Insolvency Director

So yet again we have to go through this shit again only to be informed that the original board member is going to buy MyWorld at the weekend, tell you former work colleagues to fuck off and thanks for the sacrifice of your job to make some greedy cunt richer.

They made the APB guys do this as one group, as they walked away one by one when their names were called out.

To the guys don’t take there shitty offer, they are just using you to make more money for the board, they were so quick to get rid of you last friday they will do it again.

They have created these 20 jobs with the blood of your co-workers!

Without you it will be over and they will make nothing!

Fucking embarrassed I worked for these cunts.

    @EXRTW

If you lived in the USA anywhere near me, I would buy your Family Groceries. I never give money, but I have bought groceries for people like you and your family, and I have help make House payments…. :(

The thing that gets me with the gaming business…is they keep you working, leading you to believe there will be final pay checks, but instead you either get half or none at all, and basically worked a month for free, when you could have been looking for another job….

My condolences, EXRTW – having been through almost the exact same thing in the past I know how horrible an experience it really is.
