THQ announce Red Faction: Battlegrounds

redfactionarmageddon

THQ Digital has announced Red Faction: Battlegrounds, a downloadable combat game for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

The announcement confirms earlier reports this is the arcade prequel to Red Faction: Armageddon Danny Bilson mentioned for PSN and XBL back in June.

According to Eurogamer, the game will be played isometrically, involve four-player co-op and offer unlockable items for Red Faction:  Armageddon.

Pricing and a release date are yet to be determined.

Isometric? Wha?

I’m having a bit of trouble imagining just what the hell this actually is.

It’ll be like the new tomb raider minus lara add generic bald sci-fi character, doesn’t sound too bad in all fairness

Yeah looking forward to that, apart from the whole co-op fiasco! Actually thinking about it i’d imagine this game is gonna be the new Tomb Raider mixed with Alien Breed

“Speaking at GDC Europe today,THQ Digital creative director Don Whiteford has revealed Red Faction: Battlegrounds to be a downloadable title for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, which unlike the last (and upcoming) Red Faction games – which are all about hammers and ostriches – is about vehicular combat.”

(i think i was closest with hungry hungry hippos)

Sounds cool so sort of Twisted Metal with mechs as well and using a Scrap Metal type of view
