Square announces Gun Loco for Xbox 360

Square has announced a new third-person shooter called Gun Loco for Xbox 360.
Apparently, takes place in a solar system where only the “craziest criminals in the universe” are incarcerated on a remote prison planet. There are no walls and they’ve been forgotten by society.
Here’s a story and background blurb:
In this long-abandoned world, the only rule is anarchy, as each faction fights in a bloodthirsty race for survival, power and freedom. Through several seven climate zones and numerous stylized maps, players must fight through the ruins of the world’s previous civilizations, taking on each region’s inmates in a frantic and frenetic struggle to survive.
Gun Loco’s characters feature a unique visual style with each created from the original design concepts of respected designer and toy maker Kenny Wong. Founder of kennyswork, Co-founder of Hong Kong-based Brothersfree and co-creator of the cult Brothersworker series of collectible action figures, Kenny’s incredible design style and unique characterization are a perfect fit for the bizarre world of Gun Loco. Painstakingly crafted by hand, each comic caricature has been designed from scratch as a real, poseable action figure in the Brothersworker vein before being digitally scanned into the game. Gun Loco brings these memorable misfits and surreal sociopaths to life through animation, audio and unforgettable action gameplay.
It’s contains both single and multiplayer in a “sprint-action shooter format”, meaning its a run-and-gun game, and to keep from getting mowed down by enemies, players must run, jump, duck and vault while using the environments to their advantage.
Each character comes with its own kill move, a mocking take-down taunt, comic style gameplay, and 12-player online multiplayer matches.
Gun Loco will be out for 360 next year, and until then, find out more on the official website once it launches on August 18.
Screens of the game are below.

Two things.
1) Looks like Twisted Metal, on foot.
2) What is it with Square Enix and it’s 360 exclusives? They usually score low and sell poorly. Wouldn’t they be better served making a multi-platform game to cover costs?

I like the carrot tattoo. You don’t see too many of those around.
No excuse for those boxers, though.

Looks no worse than Twisted Metal to be honest.
Which isn’t saying much, admittedly.

If you’re referring to the PS1 Twisted Metal then I agree. Otherwise,

So its twisted metal without the vehicles and shit graphics….LMAO. Oh M$ when will you learn you can never copy SONY and do it better than them. (Don’t make me start a list). Oh and for #15 twisted metal is no where finish. When it releases it will be GOW3 graphics on wheels.

@18 The Twisted Metal franchise has always been bad. The graphics have always been terrible, the art-style is contrived and completely unoriginal, and the mechanics have always been shit.
It was one of those franchise, like Carmegeddon, that kept going on name, not quality. We don’t need a new one.
@19 Twisted Metal has good graphics? Since when? Twisted Metal’s graphics are fucking horrible. The new one especially. This game at least look like it has some visual polish to it.

Heh, I don’t know what on earth happened when Twisted Metal decided to come back. It’s an awful series.
But it’s worse for another company to copy the most terrible part of it: the aesthetic.

I don’t think anyone who enjoyed playing TM back in the days cared about it’s aesthetics at all. for this game that didn’t matter.
the series wasn’t bad at all, unless you hate all car combat games in general.
the first two titles were good, TM went downhill after Sony changed the devs to 989 studios. i haven’t played any of the post 2000 ones though.

it’s like accusing reality porn of having bad aesthetic.

Ummm is it me or am I the only one who thought Twisted Metal Black was fucking awesome. Twisted metal 3 was done by 989 studios thats why it sucked. Twisted Metal 1 was fun as hell and I never played 2 so….yea let up on the twisted metal bashing.
Theres been a lot of other car combat games during the PS1 era and Twisted Metal seems like the only one still hanging in there for a reason it seems.
As for this game we’ll see what it turns out to be. Good luck M$ you’re gonna need it when it comes to the Halo crowd adopting this game.

You appear to have missed the rather important point that this is a SquareEnix game and not a Microsoft game, TEA.

Blerk if its only been announced on 360 first I always assume M$ paid for some type of exclusive deal so its theirs either way you look at it….especially if a PC ver hasn’t been announced along with it too.
Thought Square Enix would have learned their lesson by now giving M$ priority first. Or maybe they need beta testers who knows
