Best Buy outs then pulls zombie map info for Black Ops

Retailer Best Buy’s Canadian site has claimed the Hardened Edition for Call of Duty: Black Ops contains zombies.
According to the listing, the SKU contains “Four Zombie Maps Pack made famous from COD: World at War”.
At least, it did at one time. The site now has no mention of zombies anywhere, and instead lists the maps as: “4 extra playable co-op maps not in the standard edition”.
Activision must have called ‘em.
If true, the zombie maps will likely be included in the Prestige Edition, because it contains everything in the Hardened pack along with a RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle.
The Nazi Zombie multiplayer mode was a big hit with gamers when it debuted in World at War and even went on to spawn a dedicated iPhone title.
Activision has declined to comment on whether it the game has zombie maps or not.
However, back in June, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia wouldn’t say whether or not zombies would be included in Black Ops, but he wouldn’t deny it either.
Black Ops is out November 9 for PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360.
Thanks, MCV.

Even if true, these are old maps from WAW? No thanks….shit…how hard is it to just implement a zombie mode with new maps?

I don’t see much reason to buy Hardened or Prestige, unless you’re like the hugest fanboy.
I thought the coop in MW2 fell pretty flat, but really, let’s face it, we’ve all seen the nazi zombies, it’s a lot of fun, and we all love seeing Norwegian students get their faces eaten, but it’s been DONE!
What the world needs now is Vietcong zombies. Preferably ones referred to as The Weirdcong, just to reference a bit of Sodom.
I don’t know how you’d tell a living Vietcong from a zombie one though, it’s all zerg, all the time. Maybe they eat your brains with fishsauce?

@5 I’m not saying zombies get old, clearly that would be a fallacy, I’m saying nazi zombies get old.
We’ve seen it. We’ve chuckled. They’re old!
Personally I’d love a zombie Stalin, but that’s just me. I hear the old man had a craving for military officers, even when he was alive. It stands to reason that he would be just the kind of zombie to go snacking on a platoon of soldiers.

IGN just confirmed it.
“The Nazi Zombies content was undoubtedly one of the most beloved parts of Call of Duty: World at War, and today Josh Olin, Treyarch’s Community Mananger, confirmed that this content will be included in the special editions of their next game, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
On his Twitter, Olin stated that the Hardened and Prestige editions of Black Ops will include all four of the existing maps in World at War. No word was mentioned whether those who purchase the standard edition of the game would be able to acquire this content via paid DLC.
Call of Duty: Black Ops releases worldwide November 9th, 2010, but the big question is whether or not this is enough to push you over the edge into buying the more expensive versions of the game?”

@1 It isn’t. They just want to piss even more money out of people. It’s Activision. What do you expect?
If buy these games, and especially the special editions. you’re an idiot. You’re paying extra money for content that should be sitting on the disc. And if people are going to keep being willing to buy this shit, then Activision are just going to keep doing it more and more.
