Japanese Hardware Charts – PSP holds ground

Oh look. PSP is still selling big in Japan. We didn’t see that coming.

The handheld sold 48k, ahead of PS3, which was behind by 3k with 45k sales.

DSi LL came third with sales of 23k.

Wooden spoon this week goes to PSPgo with the figure of 777.

what the heck is keeping the psp up there so high? sure it’s a neat little device, but everywhere else it’s been mediocre at best, i loved it when it was still working, MGS Portable Ops & the Star Wars battlefront spinoffs were pure awesome, & even some multi plat titles looked good on there, like the Smackdown vs Raw series

Monster Hunter. It’s a huge game in Japan. Plus social gaming, as in, meeting up in social spaces and playing ad-hoc is quite common in Japan, where in the west we all just jump on PSN/XBL

The japanse dudes are freakin’ addicted to the psp!!! Play with them on ftb3 and you’ll see.
