Tippl: Activision’s received over 5K applications for Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer

callofdutyblackops9

ActiBlizz COO Thomas Tippl has said the firm has received over 5K applicants to the Call of Duty franchise.

The resumes sent in were from folks seeking to fill vacant positions at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer, and so far 60 folks have been hired.

“The Call of Duty brand is our largest entertainment property and it is important to redouble investment in the brand,” said Tippl.  “We will continue to pad it with talent and resources, and double our commitment as a long term investment.”

Or something like that. We’ll get the full transcript tomorrow.

So can we assume people were actually hired as a result and that MW3 is being worked on?

@1 Nah, it’s Activision. They just gave people a contract and then when it was all signed, they were like “PSYKE!”, because THAT’S how evil they are!

ActiVision isn’t THAT evil, Kotick is a douche, no arguing that, but they do a fair lot of sponsoring which is always good & if someone said they did not like ONE Acti-Blizzard game, i would not believe them

@12 It’s an internet fad, there’s no stopping that sort of thing.

Obviously this massive resistance isn’t affecting sales, so someone must be bullshitting quite severely.

wow alot of you guys are just pathetic Activision is just a game publisher/developer if people wanna apply and work for them then that is fine by me. I still buy activision games and i could not give a shit about what employees are laid off every company lays off workers in case you had not noticed. I have spiderman:shattered dimensions and call of duty:black ops on pre-order and im very much looking forward to playing them both.I will be kicking back enjoying them while a lot of you whine and bitch.
