FIFA appears to be much more popular than i thought, i admit i loved it as a kid, it’s not my countries favourite sport though, i reckon soccer would be 3rd, maybe 4th after Australian football league (like galic football with an smallish gridiron shaped football), then Rugby, which is unpopular in my state, then it may either be cricket or soccer, maybe netball, i’m not sure about that though

In the UK at lest, there are millions of people who only buy FIFA games and GTA games and that’s pretty much all they’ll buy.

@3 and people like them annoy me from a selfish standpoint, simply because i want to see variety in the games being made, you can count call of duty in that aswell.

@2 I’m pretty sure that overall football is the world’s most popular sport, it’s strange how Australia doesn’t really like it as much as you’d think with all the boozing and rioting the locals would love it!
It Europe football is king of all sports. Except maybe competitive tiddlywinks.

8 shooters in the top 10, good to see 360 owners diversifying themselves.

A Western, War on Terror, football and indy art house game all in the same top 10, how diverse do you want it?

@6 Current Steam activity:
1. Counter-Strike
2. Modern Warfare 2 – Multiplayer
3. Counter-Strike Source
4. Football Manager 2010
5. Team Fortress 2
6. Left 4 Dead 2
7. Alien Swarm
8. Condition Zero
9. Garry’s Mod
10. Modern Warfare 2
The idea that console owners are somehow narrower than everybody else is pretty generalizing. Shooters are just fun to play.

@ All
I too love shooters, however go back 6/12/18 months you’ll see virtually the same fucking chart give or take a few unreleased titles.

11 How odd, most players that I encounter playing such games are American 12 year old nasally whining racists.

@5 Too much acting and not enough actual roughness.
Although even Aussie Rules is getting soft now… they’ve got to bring back the biff.

coming out of e3 its only really hit me how many ****ing shooters there are and i’m just tired of it. Looking at this list doen’t make me feel any better.
Besides why is this news? It’s the same list it always has been except the CoD games have been switched around

@6,
way to keep judging people and fighting the good fight.
People like playing shooters – and since its the same list as 18 months ago, thats proof people really enjoy playing shooters online.
Stop judging people cause they arent as diversified as you are
(although just cause people play that online a lot doesnt mean they dont play other things OFFline).
Why does it bother people so much that there are so many shooters around nowadays? There are still plenty of other games I could list for days that arent shooters. You dudes complaining about how many shooters there are, ill bet youre satisfied with the games you play, so dont take it so personally.

People have been playing Counter Strike since 1999…
Anyone here played a game since 1999 that they didn’t enjoy?

Do my eyes deceive me? Is that Mr. G1GAHURTZ!
@13 Euros online are just bad period.
The French: They don’t like to play with others so they give up and quit (surrender) games easily.
The Irish: Can barely understand them through that thick accent or maybe they’re just drunk 90% of the time.
The Germans: Are still sore losers from WWII and they shout for “Lord Hitler” and racist comments through out every damn game.
The British: Are too busy shouting orders cause they think they are so much smarter than everyone else. (why does every little 12 year british punk sound like Mikey Mouse on speed?)
The Italians and Portuguese: Are too busy speaking their own damn languages. (P2P severs suck! Get some dedicated ones M$)
The rest of Europa: Are too poor to afford LIVE so they play on PSN and have mics but are afraid to try and speak English
