Splatterhouse leaving out the sex

Splatterhouse producer Dan Tovar has said the team drew the line at sex when developing the blood packed action game.

Even though this is a game which will turn your stomach inside out before grabbing your spleen and ripping it out of your ass, it seems the “s” word is something the team seen as a step too far.

"We try to stay away from any kind of sexually-themed stuff," Tovar told Joystiq in a recent interview.

Tovar also went on to talk more about the game, saying Splatterhouse will have its fair share of controversy, though the developers still wanted people to get the familiar feeling they would from playing similar titles.

"We're not trying to re-invent the wheel, so you can pick it up and play it and it feels very at home if you play a lot of action games.

"But we wanted to do a whole 3D action, balls-out, let's do it -- let's do it big and do it right.”

Splatterhouse releases this autumn for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
