Irrational opens ‘WhatIsIcarus.com’ teaser site

Yes! Finally! We know what Project Icarus is now!

Is what we would be saying if WhatIsIcarus.com wasn’t just a smoky background with a gray-ish spot at the moment.

Fortunately, smart money says the site will fill in with more spots over time, taking on the appearance of someone with a nasty case of the chicken pox. Only gray. And a videogame.

Interestingly, the site’s domain registry points to publisher Take-Two and Rockstar – of all studios in Take-Two’s stable – instead of leaving a bread crumb trail right back to Irrational. Even so, Irrational’s asking everyone to save the date for August 11, which will likely be the big reveal of its mysterious, oft-rumored Project Icarus.

So yeah, eyes on that little gray ball – because, odds are, it won’t stay that way for long.
