Gears of War movie going back to drawing board

Following Cliff Bleszinski’s admission to VG247 at E3 that the Gears of War movie was in a “touch and go” situation following the loss of director Len Wiseman in April, the Epic design lead said at Comic-Con at the weekend that the team’s now going back to look at the script.
According to TheMoviePool, Bleszinski said he wants to re-work the story and bring down the $100 million budget, as movie studios weren’t biting before.
Bleszinski said he wants to make the movie “more like District 9,” where as the first script Len Wiseman was working on felt more like 2012.
It was reported in April that the film had been curtailed from a “sprawling epic,” to a “straight-ahead invasion story,” according to the LA Times.
Good news. Sounded like the whole thing had been whacked at E3. Fingers crossed.

I know, how about you make it like fucking Gears of War you douchebag and instead of taking a look at the script, take a look at the damn game. Its time we got a scene for scene remake of a game instead of another lame ass Hollywood interpretation of the game by yet another overtly pretentious director with dreams of being the next Cameron but ending up the next Bol.

Sony should be saying to Epic, “let us announce Gears 4, and we’ll fund the movie”.

That’s a bitt like saying that after Daredevil, Batman Begins should never have been made.
They keep choosing the wrong games and giving them to talentless hacks to make crappy cash in products. Untill that changes game movies will continue to be a bitt poo.
But it’s a slow procces, sooner or later a tallented film maker with a passion for games and understanding of how to adapt them properly will come along and all will be right in the world.

The problem with all these movies is that they always try to make gaming references, and they dumb it down for people who havent played the game.
old comic book movies used to do the same. Now comic book movies are taking off huge because they realised “if we make it somewhat believable, and fill a good story… itll make a good movie”
The directors/producers think as long as they have a couple videogame references itll be ok – and weve still yet to get past that stage and have someone actually make just a good damned movie – based on principles of whatever game it is.
I love gears, but theyll prolly turn it into something shitty.

Not all movies need a “love story”. God, I hate that.
