2K Sports has released a screenshot of Lebron James wearing a Miami Heat basketball jersey in NBA 2K11.
James announced yesterday, after two years pondering the decision and six suitors waiting in the wings, that he would use his free-agent status to join Miami Heat instead of staying with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Chris Snyder, director of marketing for 2K Sports, told Joystiq when the firm released the screenshot James and neither the Cavaliers nor Miami Heat have had stats finalized in the game just yet, so yesterday’s decision has not affected development of the title.
“It’s too early to tell, as the Heat have to fill out the rest of the roster,” Snyder said. “The Heat definitely will be improved, and the Cavs will definitely take a hit, but we need to see where everyone else lands before we can determine who is the number one ranked team.”
Enjoy your first glimpse of James in his new jersey, then, even if it is only for a videogame.
NBA 2K11 launches on October 5, with Air Jordan himself on the cover.
