StarCraft II CE unboxed in video, internet has little wank

starcraft23

Hit the link for a movie of a European man breathing heavily while leafing through special edition StarCraft II material.

Someone’s got hold of a copy of StarCraft II’s Collector’s Edition, as you can see in the video below. He appears to be very excited about this. So does “the internet”. Unsurprising, really.

The guy can’t, unfortunately, install it; he’s thwarted by a date lock on the disc.

The game’s out on July 27.

Whats the fuss all about? Its just another generic RTS? Besides, cant the guy change the date on his PC? Unless it requires online activation

@3
Hardly generic… it is if not *the* most famous RTS series at least in the top 3. And it is the first non-World of Warcraft game from Blizzard in 7-8 years. That is what all the fuss is about.
:)

And no, he can’t activate the game earlier by something so simple as changing the date.

” Its just legendary RTS”

Fixed. To say something generic to Starcraft II is like someone yesterday cut your balls off. Seriously.

It is generic, the fact that its the same game but in full 3D makes it generic.
Theres no other way to put it really. StarCraft paved the road and with its sequel Blizzard are safely driving down it. But its since turned into a freeway used by everyone else.

compared to the likes of World in Conflict, Total war series, even Universe at War – it all seems very generic. From what I have seen/read, it offers nothing new in the genre.

I always thought that Warcraft 3 had more depth.

But this game is nice. Looking forward to it.

I am not a fan of RTS. I played the crap out of first Starcraft. I’m going to pick this up just because I have several friends really into it. I just feel like RTS really have nothing to do with strategy at all, just a clickfest. Once the formulas are released (they always are) for most effecient builds, it just comes down to who can do the formula without screwing it up. RTS=Twitchfest – strategy.

I’ve yet to see a non-turnbased game actually have real in-depth strategy.
