Interview – Gran Turismo 5′s Chris Hinojosa-Miranda

gt58

There are cheers and there are cheers. The cheer from the Sony E3 press conference crowd when a final Gran Turismo 5 release date flashed up on the big screen was a proper, joyous cheer. Yamauchi’s opus has been so long coming it was in danger of slipping into myth.

GT brand associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda, then, was buoyant when we met him in Sony’s behind closed doors rooms in LA last week, as enthusiastic about the game as you’d expect him to be. The guy’s a believer. Given the footage that came out of the show, it’s not hard to see why.

Read on for confirmation of an incoming DLC announcement, the “joke” that GT5 may slip into 2011, the promise of plenty more feature reveals throughout this year and some expert dodging on the question of whether or not the final product will ship on multiple Blu-rays.

Interview – Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg

aaron

Aaron Greenberg is not the man you expect him to be. Once famed for his tirades against 360′s competition, Xbox’s director of product management is not actually green. He is, in fact, very pleasant. He smiles; he laughs; he exudes a relaxed air you wouldn’t have naturally associated with an integral player in Microsoft’s E3 planning, speaking first thing on a Wednesday morning smack in the middle of the show. He gives great dictaphone.

VG247 quizzed the Xbox boss on Kinect, the core, the politics behind securing exclusive reveals for the Microsoft press conference and why he’s not convinced the market’s right for a 3D push.

Interview – Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s Justin Drust

ghostrecon1

We weren’t sure what to think when Ubisoft announced yet another entry in its Ghost Recon shooter franchise, but after seeing the game in action at E3, we reckon Ghost Recon’s well worth getting excited about.

After all, in what other game can you turn invisible, knife a guard until he can legally be classified as a pin cushion, and then prop his lifeless form up while another guard walks right on by, completely unaware that his buddy’s nothing but a body?

Certainly, the game’s brimming with potential, but one demo’s hardly enough to sell everyone on a game not called “Crackdown.” We wanted to know more. So we engaged our active camo, took associate producer Justin Drust captive, and did a little interrogating. Which is our sleep-deprived way of saying we asked him a few questions during E3. Click past the break for Drust’s thoughts on Future Soldier’s PC version, the recent delay into 2011, the upcoming multiplayer beta, and tons more.
