Twisted Pixel says it's working on console MMO for Turbine [UPDATE]

lotro

Update: We've been told by a representative close to the firm that it's "not ready to be talked about" yet on either side.

Original: Twisted Pixel has announced on its website that it has "finished a contract" with Turbine, helping the LOTRO creators out on a console MMO.

Here's the post from Twisted's website:

It's still hush hush, but we just finished a contract with Turbine to help them build an awesome new MMO intended for consoles.

If you want more than that, you'll have to take it up with Turbine, because we can't spill the beans on their top-secret game.

It was a fun project, and we're proud of our work. We can't wait to play it ourselves when it's released.

Yes Twisted Pixel, we will take this up with Turbine. As a matter of fact, we've already sent the mail.

Still, as hush-hush as this seems, we doubt we'll get much.

Turbine has said before that it was working on an MMO for PS3 and Xbox 360, and during GDC Austin last year, explained how such a game could "revolutionize consoles".

Last year, a survey popped up asking consumers how much they would be willing to pay for LOTRO should it be released on Xbox 360.

Hopefully, someone at Turbine will get back with us soon.

Thanks, Massively.
