Darksiders merchandise to debut at Comic Con San Diego

THQ plans to promote Darksiders through a “variety of lifestyle and consumer product categories”, meaning books and statues.

According to the press release, Udon Entertainment will create the art books, and SOTA Toys the limited-edition statues as part of an “expansive merchandise line” for the game.

The book is titles The Art of Darksiders and will feature a collection of concept art from the game, including original artwork from Joe Madureira. Udon will debut the book at Comic Con San Diego July 22-25, with Madureira on hand for signings.

Also at Comic Con, SOTA Toys will be featuring a 14” statue of WAR atop his mount, Ruin. This is the first in a line of limited edition statues, and pre-orders for the collectible start on July 22, with the item shipping later in the year.

Darksiders 2 is “well into production”, and will be released in 2012.
