Square Enix announces Mindjack

mindjack2

Square Enix has unveiled a new action online shooter titled Mindjack, which is being developed by acclaimed Japanese developer feelplus.

Throughout the game, players assume the role of a Mind Hacker hacking into and controlling the minds of enemies to turn the tide of battle.

There is a twist in that if you don’t hack into the enemies mind, then they will hack into yours so you need to be fast, whether playing in the offline single player campaign or online against others.

Mindjack will release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will be released in October this year.

Debut video is below.

Thanks, AGB

We’re willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we’re asking in return is your cooperation in bringing a known terrorist to justice.

Mr. Anderson… you disappoint me.

Tell me, Mr. Anderson… what good is a phone call… if you’re unable to speak?

Yeah. That sounds like a really good deal. But I got a better one. How about… I give you the finger… and you give me my phone call?

“Mindjack” the title sounds pretty cool.

Oh my, that looks awful! The environments are lovely, but everything just falls apart as soon as anything starts to move – stiff, horrible-looking characters and laughable animation. Terrible voice-over, terrible dialogue, just…. cheap. Nasty. Ugh.

@18 My thoughts exactly Blerk plus “mindhackers” and the title “mindjack” they’re so cheesy and uninspired…as the game itself

I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it, I can’t stand it any longer. It’s the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink and every time I do, I fear that I’ve somehow been infected by it.

The best thing about this game will probably be this comments thread.

That game is looking bad.

SQE is publishing, but who is the dev studio? Because who ever it is, they sure as heck don’t have a clue.

It’s developed by feelplus, who did Lost Odyssey, Ninety-Nine Nights 2, etc.

This was what that Nerkas trailer was for.

I think the concept is pretty cool, I wonder if in multiplayer, you can hack into the minds of other user controlled characters.
