Portal 2 coming to PS3 with Steamworks
SURPRISE!!!
Gabe Newell stepped onto Sony’s stage at E3 and announced that Portal 2 is coming to PS3, and it will include Steamworks.
And he just said Portal 2 on PS3 would be the best version on any console. Why did you say that, Gabe?
Portal 2 will hit PS3 the same day as PC, Mac, and Xbox 360.
PS3′s the only console version of Portal 2 that includes Steamworks.
“When the PlayStation 3 was introduced, I was the one of the platform’s biggest critics,” said Newell. “However, Sony has proved that the PlayStation 3 is the most open platform of all the current generation consoles and has worked extremely hard to make the platform the most desirable for consumers and developers.
“As such, we are delighted to announce Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 and believe the Steamworks support included will make it the best console version of the game.”
Steamworks on PS3 will make it easier to auto update, use community features, and get downloadable content.
Portal 2 is targeted for launch in 2011.

Sorry, zoop. 2 years ago, I would have agreed with you. Nowadays, though, Sony has been hit so hard, forking up the cash was the only solution. It would explain MS’ poor showing this year, I think.
I personally think its sucks. This does change everything, only for the worse. No, instead of the best being weeded from the worst, its just whomever demands the highest ransom and succeeds in getting it. Great studios are dying and middling developers are thriving through sheer force and stupidity.
I’m mad, frankly.
