Red Dead Redemption holds off SMG2 to maintain UK number one

Red-Dead-Redemption-2

Red Dead Redemption’s held off Super Mario Galaxy 2 to maintain its number one spot in the UK charts.

The plumber’s Wii return lands in instead at two, while FIFA World Cup South Africa gets third.

Rooms: The Main Building was the only new entry to the charts, coming in fourth.

It’s followed by the rest of the top ten, such as Just Dance at five, Wii Fit Plus at six, Modern Warfare 2 at seven, eighth for The Sims 3: Ambitions, UFC Undispiuted 10 at nine and Wii Sports Resort rounding it off at ten.

Last week’s data is here. Thanks, Eurogamer.

I really think that RDR deserves it. It is a shame though that SMG2 couldn’t grab the top spot.

Is this SMG2′s first week? It almost seems impossible that it didnt top the charts.

I think it’s not. It’s just shows how people tired of Mario franchise.
People want something new from the Wii.

Mario did get the number 1 spot in the single-format chart, so it’s not all bad news for Team Nintendo.

Wow!

Perhaps Galaxy is too ‘hardcore’ for the Wii audience.

Red dead redemption really has brought ponchos to the mainstream in it going of the kinect event.

@8 Or it could just be (and in fact is) that 91% of the Wii owning demographic aren’t core gamers?
