Black Ops is clearly set in Vietnam (or a significant part of, at least), DUFFKING. This is obviously some sort of desperate attempt to join the party.

I don’t see any reason why they’d change their blatant desire to push themselves as a CoD alternative, which is why they’re doing this.

At the end of the day, millions of people are probably going to be playing Black Ops online when it gets released. So when that happens, BC2 is still going to be a year old game with probably a whole lot less players online, if you go by the patterns on the XBL rankings for example.

I’m not saying that they didn’t do Vietnam before, but I’m saying that they’re only re-visiting it in order to keep up with the competition.

Or perhaps DICE thought it would be a good idea to revisit something people have been asking for years!

and it’s not a coincidence, it’s not like they started developing after the announcement. Vietnam was a Battlefield game long ago. So i don’t see how Toilet washer is so pissed about.

Setting is setting. Who will have better game wins. But after the campaign level of Black Ops at Microsoft Press conference, i have no doubt that even Medal Of Honor (that in my opinion have better graphics, but worse feel then MW2 gameplay) will be better. But Battlefield:BC 2.. He he.. Whine as much as you want Toilet Washer i will play a great game this year.

It’s hardly a conspiracy to challenge a competing company on a section of turf. The basic reason for Bad Company has always been to provide an EA alternative to CoD. It’s not as if EA haven’t blatantly admitted it. Basically 70% of their press releases feature the word Activision or “competitors”.

That being said, I don’t see why they’re surprised their games aren’t selling better. When all you do is follow the leader, what you end up with is never going to be any better.

I’ll say this though, I watched that trailer for BF, and it looks EXACTLY like COD MW2. Sorry Erthazus, but it does.
Of course, that’s to be expected as the COD is essentially king of the modern combat games, at least in sales.
I don’t care for either game that much, though i feel infinity ward made the better COD games by far.
