Looks sexy as hell. Not impressed by the Kinect stuff, but was I ever going to be? (No.) Also, that Star Wars game looked like absolute garbage.

That’s really great…but i wouldn’t rush to buy one(i already have the old one)until i hear from people that there are really no problems with it.

No price drop makes no sense imo. The only reason PS3 slims sold so well is because they were cheaper.

Wouldn’t have made a difference to the piracy Redh3lix. Slot load drives are essentially the same aside from the loading mechanism.

I’d wager they avoided it because they’ve got a tendency to fail more often than tray loading drives… and MS are a little bit wary about console failures right now.

Just about the only thing I cared about during that whole conference was the new Xbox, and I’m not even buying one. The Kinect stuff isn’t for me or the “core” market – the very market the Xbox was built upon – and yet they’re going for this entirely different audience. There’s a very good chance it’ll fall flat on its face, imho.

It does look nice, if not exactly slim line. The new design is futuristic and smart. I will wait to see if it can handle heat, and the promise of being ‘whisper silent’ sounds too good to be true.

Interesting that the usual spot reserved for announcing the latest playstation exclusive turncoat was absent. there just ain’t no more left to steal!

Non of those Kinect games looked particularly polished or original. Considering it’s going up against the well established and much cheaper Wii, they have work cutt out to say the least.

What about all of us who watched the live blog….? I’ll settle for xbox live points to the value of a Slimline, thanks.

I really don’t like that design. Let’s remember this is the xbox MS want families to buy, how family friendly does it look compared to the current 360. Neutral curves > Black edges IMO

Metal Gear was the only surprise really IMO. It looked awesome and i didn’t expect it there. Kinect took over the whole fucking show, what a goddamn shame that is.

It’s the Apple model: more features, better looking, same price.
The PS3 needed to drop the price becuase nobody wanted it at 400 bucks, the 360 diden’t have that issue.

New box looks nice, can’t say I’m liking the big bloody crease down the centre though.

Is there a comparison photo anywhere with the new vs old? From what I’ve seen so far, the new console looks the same size as the old one, just with the hard drive tucked inside instead of on the top.
I am surprised they havent put that kinect thing inside it though.

the conference was so bad. 85 % kinect and kinect looked so superboring – who plays these games- seriously – i don´t get it! if i want to do sports i put on my sneakers and take my dog for a run, i f i wanna dance i go to a club. consoles are for games. i´m a 360 lover. but it really looks like this will change. can´t wait for sony this year. ms: nothing about handheld ambitions, no ff 13 versus and only games everyone knew about already for ages (except the crytek one)…watching the press conference really wasted my time. huge let down…

That was cool for Rising trailer, and for the Crytek announcement.

Good stuff there. The other stuff is not what I watch E3 for, so I am a little disappointed.

If they drop the price of the other 360′s, then colour me more interested. I might be able to per-chase one.

As a PS3 owner (and dad to three) Kinetic looked great for my kids (and wife). There were more than a few titles that looked great fun for them. The only aspect putting me off is the RUMOURED price of the damn thing. That coupled with purchasing an XBox in the first place is just too much.

I think ultimately Microsoft’s conference was a success in reaching the casual gaming audience and outlining the navigational features plus offering a glimpse of core title integration (e.g. Star Wars, Forza).

i just hope the press doesnt get swept up in the hype of their new free 360s ignoring the downsides.

Will definately upgrade to the new 360 as i need to buy a new wireless adapter and a new hard drive anyways so may as well upgrade!

Rising, Reach, Gears 3 etc all looked immense though majority of Kinetic looked a bit naff though the Forza thing looked pretty cool. Am suprised there was no Summer of Arcade announcement? Is there a session thing after the conference like last year where this may be announced???

The new model will retail at the same price as the current Elite. The Arcade und Elite will drop in price by 50$.

The HDD is easy to change, comparable to the PS3. Digital Out and Kinect-Port on the back.

Are the USB ports only on the back now? I didn’t realise the PSU was internal now, that’s pretty good. If it truly is whisper quiet I could probably be persuaded to upgrade if GAME are doing decent trade-in deals.

MS’s conference was very “meh” this year, at least in my opinion. I was hoping for some head tracking and alternate controls in a serious game, but all we got was the wii like stuff. No price on Kinetic? No Major game announcements from Bethesda? ONE exclusive from Crytek but no gameplay. Not a sports fan so the ESPN stuff bored me, and the wii motion control gaming is not what I want to play.

I find myself hoping that Nintendo and Sony have some stuff that excite me, because MS’s conference was like Nintendo’s with Ravi Drums.

Personally I think it looks pretty swish. These press shots never do new hardware justification anyway.

It does look to be a fair bit smaller.
