Danish Game lists Natal pricing at 1,299 DKK/£140

Sunday, 13th June 2010 21:39 GMT By Joe Anderson

natalpriced

The Danish arm of retailer Game has priced Microsoft’s Natal at 1.299,00 DKK, which works out at around €175/£140.

It comes as last month, several Swedish retailers, including Game, priced the motion camera at 1500 SEK ($200/£132).

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg followed up with a statement soon after the story emerged, saying the price was “purely speculation“.

Earlier today, GAME UK had started taking early orders on it

No doubt the real pricing will be revealed by Microsoft later tonight at its Natal Experience event, so we don’t have too long to wait to find out.

Let the megatons begin.

Too high. If MS does go by this price Natal is already a fail.

Holy fuck 175 euros, that’s more than the console alone….at this price they can shove it.

If this ends up more expensive than Move I can’t see it taking off.

  6. DeSpiritusBellum

There’s no chance that that’s the price. It’s not like they’ll price a peripheral at the same level as a Wii.

And it quite clearly says even on that screendump that “The price is not yet determined”.

This is about as factual as Hollywood gossip.

yep. far too expensive. but probably true because they wanna sell the slim bundles also to the ones that already own a 360…expensive additional hardware. that always has beem ms ´s style. in gaming.

Are you guys even half-aware of how expensive it is in Scandinavia? Denmark for an example, has a 25% VAT plus whatever our rip-off shops like to add on top.

Then let’s not forget that many shops, especially crap stores like EB/Gamestop & GAME ( Didn’t even know they had a Danish branch ) tend to mark up pre-orders by a large margin.

Then let’s look at this, for an example; http://kotaku.com/384734/be-happy-that-you-arent-buying-gta-iv-in-denmark-sorry-if-you-are – So do you seriously feel quoting unconfirmed SCANDINAVIAN prices is any serious indicator of the actual retail price?

people remember these are the people who charge £40 a year to play online when everyone else can do it for free and charge £60 for a simple wireless adapter -_-

    this will probly be £100+

Personally I refuse to pay £100 to play online on my 360 (which is why my ps3 gets so much loving ;)) and i aint buying this

    #14 4 years ago
  15. Mattigan

The best yet, “I won’t pay £100 to go online!” maths & online shopping FAIL! Believe me, you wont be missed on XBL.

More believable would be “I won’t pay more than £30 for LIVE Gold” which strangely enough, I never have.

    #15 4 years ago
  16. AHA-Lambda

£60 for necessary wireless adapter in my case and ok you win £30 for live (rrp is still £40 look it up) oh god the ten pound difference is really going to make me buy it now at £90…ooohhh

    fucking twat

Hi, long time lurker, 1st time poster. Looking forward to all the e3 coverage but if natal is more than £70 they may as well just go home cos move will steamroller it if these prices are even close

  19. Bulk Slash

That’s not a very good price if it’s genuine, you can almost buy an Xbox 360 Arcade for that.

Microsoft are going to have to have the best fucking games ever to get people interested in Natal, otherwise it’s going to be in the cupboard under the stairs with the Wii by the time Boxing Day rolls around.

Then again underneath it says final price not determined and also christmas 2010… And it 100% will be out way before Christmas!

    Sorry for dobbelpost.

  23. Madlink

Considering you can pick up a brand new Arcade system for around £120, I seriously doubt Natal will cost this much. I can possibly see it reaching as high as £99.99, but that would have to be it as well as a bundled game.

    #23 4 years ago
  24. Coheno

Yeah, but games in the UK are generally MUCH cheaper due to the high taxes we have here in Denmark on everything! We have just as bad videogamepricing as Australia! I’m betting it’ll be around £70 in the UK with a bundled game and for the same 1000DKK in Denmark!

What did you think the “SF” on the key fob in the trailer, was all about, then? That’s nothing new. ;)

About these estimates of Natal’s price, don’t forget that Game in the UK has started offering first dibs to anybody who puts £20 down to reserve their pre-order. I don’t think the estimates already out will be that far off, bearing that in mind.

Looks like Natal is called Kinect… and there’s a new 360 coming with a 250gb HDD and Wifi.

    http://www.console-tribe.com/news/6-6-281598/mass-effect-3-dragon-age-ii-dead-or-alive-5-saranno-annunciati-all-e3.html

(See ad on right hand side)

Better than Wave, still shit. :D

That new 360 also looks strange. But I’ll wait for a proper pic before deciding if I like it or not.

  29. Anders

I’d just like to encourage everyone to go back and read Sethos comment. The VAT is crazy in Scandinavia, and it should be subtracted from the price before it is converted to USD:s.

    #29 4 years ago
  30. Dralen

As I said on the earlier Natal post, this is most likely true, since GAME are taking £20 deposit pre-orders for Natal. GAME don’t usually do this unless its £100+.

I am from Denmark and what it says is.

    Julen 2010 – Christmas 2010

OBS: Endelig pris ikke fastlagt – The price is not determined yet.

And the rest is about what Natal is.

Well spotted sir! That’s pretty sweet, hopefully a little smaller than the current Xbox, but obviously hard to tell from the pictures.

That name’s RIDICULOUS. It’s really awful. Is it some kind of play on Kinetic? I don’t get it! I’ll see if it makes more sense after the Kin…ect show, though.

Lambda have you even tried looking for a wireless adapter because i have never seen one sell for £60 ever.

@34 – in shops i’ve always seen it sell at £60 and £40 is still too expensive for something that on pc costs about £5-£10

  37. theevilaires

I’m still buying one but wow what a dumb name to go by…KINECT?! Natal was so much better! but I guess they need a casual name like MOVE.

If you look online, you could easily get an xbox360 console with a game at that price.
