Microsoft has “bigger announcements” at E3 that’ll “top” last year’s Natal announce

xbox360logo2

Do you hear that? That’s the megaton horn. It’s going off.

In an email to members of Xbox.com, Microsoft has promised it has announcements for this year’s main press conference that will even “top” last year’s announcement of Project Natal.

“E3 is the world’s largest gaming show,” read the email, “and the place where we make the BIG announcements about what’s coming up on Xbox. With the massive Project Natal announcement at last year’s event, you’d think we’d find it hard to top that. Well, think again.

“This year at E3 we’ve got even BIGGER announcements to share with you.”

Get ready, kids. ‘Tons are about to drop big time.

Microsoft will hold two events in LA next week: its Natal-centric event on Sunday night from 7pm PST, with its main presser at 10am Monday morning.

Get the skinny on them here.

Thanks, Videogamer.

Project Natal was a megaton reveal last year? Really?

Just a shame big Microsoft announcements have to involve “PlayStation” in some way or another, isn’t it? /snark.

It’s just hype. It will end up being 360 slim.

I’ve never found that Natal was such a huge announcement… so maybe this time it will be a REAL big announcement, not another useless gimmick.

And even if I’d like a 360 Slim, I still hope it’s not their biggest E³ surprise.

@3 Yep, completely correct. Odds are that they will announce a pack-in with Natal to stealth it into our living rooms too.

Natal seemed big, sure. But I note we don’t have it yet and indeed the latest material around it is less than flattering.

Personally I’m not interested in BIG announcements unless they have substance and deliver.

I’m wary this will be more ‘look at what’s coming’ before they’ve even delivered last years ‘look at what’s coming’.

Just gimme substance over hype… which they won’t of course.

I think they will announce them getting new franchises on their console “as well”.

Well, the first four Natal games are on MCV and they sound… completely shit. :-D

12 more to come, apparently. Which may or may not sound less shit.

I think people are putting too much thought into the statement.

Given how Square Enix and their recent “History Changing” statement turned out I would expect this bit of hype to end up being a less-than-megaton (meganot?) announcement but in a BIG font, written a line or two above something to do with Natal. ;)

Probably just Hulu. You all are too knowledgable with gaming news and assume it’s foregone conclusion, but casual gamers might didn’t heard a word of the rumor.
