XCOM releasing in 2011, says 2K

2K's confirmed that XCOM will release next year.

The details come from the company's E3 line-up, which was announced yesterday. No specific date was mentioned by 2K or parent company Take Two in the line-up.

When the reboot was announced back in April as a first-person shooter, no release date was mentioned by the firm.

2K Marin is making the game via 2K's Australian studio which recently folded into the studio, and not the BioShock team as first thought.

Hot s**t, kids. Keep an eye out on it next week.

Thanks, IGN.
