Rock Band 3: 5 minutes of video, interviews, keyboard, details

It’s a keyboard. With a nob on the side of it.
Scheduled to see Rock Band 3 at E3 next week? Now you don’t have to! USA today’s published a large video of the game, showing off the new keyboard, drop-in gameplay, confirmation of full backwards compatibility and more.
There’s a large preview of it here, detailing what’s “new and notable”.
Just watch it. Looks cool. It’s out this year.

Its interesting, i guess expecting 88 keys was a little much. Shame though, could have been a decent learning tool.

@Gek
It’s still a learning tool…
Just because it only has two octaves doesn’t mean you can’t practice fingering, speed and technique.
I hope the game has a tutorial mode that will improve your skills as a pianist.

Gotta admit, what they’ve done for the piano is awesome. This will be great not only for piano music, but synth as well.
Hopefully this will have us see even more non-rock music being featured in the game, and I know a few Rock Band Network bands personally who will be very happy with this new instrument.

Do you think they’ll have some insanely hard classical music DLC?

Hahahaha. It’s Harmonix. Considering some of the genre’s they mix into Rock Band amongst the obvious rock and pop songs, I wouldn’t put it past them.
Could you imagine the download sizes? =D

Well, it’s a step up from Green Day: Rock Band at least…

I like what I saw.
Obviously the game has Queens opus song, anyone have alink that shows a song list yet? To me thats the defining feature right there.

Maybe it’s just the levels they’re demonstrating but looking at the vid, despite the fact you’ve got more keys (than the five on the geetar), you still don’t get to play the right notes for the song, it’s amalgamated the same way the notes for the axe are.
Hopefully though it’ll have more synthy songs on there like stuff from Depeche Mode or even Kraftwerk. “The Model” would be brilliant ! You’d get to sing in a poor German accent and everything !

Well, that’s the keyboard, and what about the new guitar?? in the green day demo it seems that the guitar will change, anyone noticed the sign when synching the television with the game??
“place the auto-sync guitarin vertical poition in front of your television”
or something like that
well, for “the who”, who wants something in the track list You’ve been left on your own, like a rainbow in the dark :

@onlineatron i’ve got no sound at work
but yeah, all joking aside, they will be missing a trick if they don’t do some classical stuff
