Square Enix bringing 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded to E3

Wednesday, 9th June 2010 17:28 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Square Enix has just announced its E3 line-up, confirming it will bring The 3rd Birthday for its first western showing.

Also mentioned in the line-up is Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded for DS. This actually hasn’t been formally announced as of yet, so this must be the title Tetsuya Nomura is introducing from the series at the show next week. The snip from the PR goes:

“Sora’s journey in KINGDOM HEARTS II has drawn to a close, and now a new tale is set to begin. Jiminy Cricket is looking over the journal he used to document his first adventure with Sora when he discovers a mysterious message. He didn’t write it – so how on earth did it get there? King Mickey is determined to find out, so he and his friends decide to digitize the journal and delve into its deepest secrets. Inside this “datascape” dwells a second Sora who is about to embark on a grand adventure of his very own.”

Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Final Fantasy XIV, Kane & Lynch 2 and more usual suspects, as well as the recently announced Dungeon Siege 3, will also be at the LACC beginning on Tuesday.

No mention of Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Final Fantasy Agito XIII, though.

REMEMBER 2008: No FFXIII in Square’s line-up, yet look what happened.

Just saying. *puts cat amongst pigeons*

3rd birthday is something i’m very interested at…
As for Versus XIII it will probably be at TGS or at their party
They won’t pull the same tacky “surprise” twice as they did with FFXIII back in 2008

Edit:@6 Don’t know about this confirmation. But most Japanese and some Westerners are very skeptical about the quality of Versus especially after Wada’s comment of a possible multiplatform release
Frankly they were disappointed and the reactions were lots and bad…

SE is at a tigh spot right now about this decision.
The hype will be toned down from this confirmation…many will see it as FFXIII all over again.

The way i see it they better keep at least this one exclusive for once just to see if they can do much better than a multiplatform title like FFXIII and off course to see the reception from fans of the series(with FFXIII wasn’t so good)

Some devs (doesn’t matter if they’re first or third party)do better job with exclusives rather than multiplatforms and vice versa.

Well Arkham Asylum 2 will be shown and that ain’t on the list! Actually that won’t be a SE game now will it did it go to WB rather than SE when they bought Eidos?

square enix sorta may ruin the image of lara croft. Unless they make a gritty fantasy version of a lara croft game.

This will be fucking stupid if Sony won’t take advantage of Final Fantasy XIII Versus, except that Microsoft will make it’s first footsteps in to the announcement of FFXIII Versus in it’s presentation.

Arkham Asylum 2 was a WB game even before the Squenix/Eidos deal, DJ. Warner actually bought the studio.

There are a few things in there that I’m quite interested in seeing. My interest in Versus as pretty much evaporated after FFXIII though, so I don’t much care whether they show that or not.
