Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s third map pack gets trailered

bfbc2

EA’s released a trailer of the third map pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, showing off some of the new stuff from the DLC.

You can get it below, courtesy of Big Download.

Some of the new stuff includes Squad Deathmatch on Nelson Bay and Squad Rush on Laguna Alta.

The new content is available to those who bought the game with a VIP code from June 9 for PS3 and 360. That’s tomorrow, kids.

PC owners will get it sometime afterwards, but won’t need a VIP code to access them.

The lack of absolutely new maps is frustrating. We want NEW MAPS DICE, not some little changed, for unpopular modes, which infact must be in the game at release!

I would like them to release all the rush one’s from BC apart from Inferno.
Valley run was about my favourite, but tbh they were all great,(apart from Inferno)
But another rush map is always welcome.

So its just more modes for maps which were already on the disc? To be expected really, EA was never going to let actual, freshly made maps go for free.

By this count MW2 has 200+ maps now.

Even this map pack 3 is surprisingly late: map pack 1 & 2 was released one month apart, but this one was 2 months later than mp2, makes you wonder if they are intentionally dragging it.

Theres no reason that these modes shouldnt have already been with the maps in the first place.
I’m sure they’re filtering this content so that it gives the illusion of a long lasting, well worth it VIP deal and to get the game on the front of the scene again by spacing the releases by a few months.

I love bc2 to bits but its not a map pack, its a mode pack which is already on the disc.

They are free! Why do you complain?

Would have been nice to have more maps for sure.

But what I have found this generation is that once I max out the unlocks/stats/kits/classes/whatevers I am too often done with the game. I play like a gamer possesed till then, but after, it gets old. Be it Mag or BF, or whatever.

If they introduced new classes, gun lines, skills, ranks, whatever, I would prolly pay for that DLC. I really only play RUSH anyways, so new modes on exsisting maps = lame.

@7 because its on the disc. You don’t even need download anything. And its only free if you have a VIP code.

@8 That’s what made me put BC2 down. I didn’t feel like there was a lot more enjoyment to be had once everything was unlocked.

I think the maps in general are pretty uninspiring though. Rather than detailed “levels” it’s just pretty arbitrarily placed buildings, hills, water and forests. It just doesn’t lend itself very well to any sort of applied tactics.

In comparison the thing that makes me come back to MW2 every few months is the maps, and the fact that I can play those maps in many different ways depending on who I’m up against. In BC2 you can’t really play to the environment because it’s all open and random.
