Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming early 2011, new trailer rocks fucking socks

Deus Ex Human Revolution

Update: Check out some screens of the game pulled from the video over on Eurogamer France.

Original: Square Enix has released a brand new CGI-filled trailer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Hot shit? Not even close.

You can get it below. Eurogamer’s also gone live with an interview with game director Jean-Francois Dugas.

It is bloody awesome. Go give it a whizz. It shows the game takes place in Montreal, Detroit and Shanghai. Again, awesome.

The end of the trailer confirms an early 2011 release date for the Eidos Montreal-developed title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I hope they won’t screw 3rd inbstallment of the game. It starts before Deus Ex 1

Trailer is crazy. Inspiration was from Ghost In The Shell. Crazy, just crazy.

Definitely among the hotter trailers I’ve seen… ;)

Hell of a lot of input ramifications there – elbow blades, transforming hands, camo, energy blast. Hope the control scheme keeps up.

I retract my statement Mr. Cullen and I apologize. That was indeed “HOT” worthy. Plus I never played any of the Deus Ex games. So yea this is high on my list now.

I love when I own my self :P

@10 FFFUUUU, why you won’t play the first Deus Ex? You won’t know few of the characters from the first game.
Deus Ex:Human Revolution starts before Deus Ex 1. You should try it. It’s a kick ass classic and you can play it even to this day.

Shit on a brick, that was fucking amazing. Looks very East meets West, like Blade Runner’s downtown LA crossed with Neo-Tokyo.

Pretty movie, but I fail to see the Deus Ex in there.

It was a lot of transformers, a lot of Blade Runner, a lot of ratatatat, but it didn’t exactly hint at anything even remotely deep.

“Ooo, a dollarbill, templurrrs”

@18 It had the atmosphere of that world. Of course it is the trailer, how they are going to show you roleplay stuff?
It’s still incredible trailer.

@16 Don’t touch second game or you will eat your socks. It’s a bad game. First one is a masterpiece.

wantwantwantwant. NOW.

That said, it does look disappointingly removed from the originals, with little to no relationship beyond the cyber-badass setting (which is mysteriously more high-tech than the originals), which is a shame… a prequel presented the perfect opportunity to bring back Gunther Hermann. Oh well. Still looks freaking great.

DE2 got such a bad wrap, largely shunned purely because of the “dumbed down” console controls. I completely disregarded it, like all true Deus Ex fans. Then, years later, I saw it in a bargain bin for £2, and thought “why the hell not, I need to see what happened to those crazy Denton brothers.” And you know what? It was Fucking Awesome. I was furious that an entire legion of fans had missed out on the sequel for no reason other than we were too firmly routed on our PC-interface-or-die high horse to accept a more streamlined control scheme. Ironically, more years later, those same people then went on to shower Bioshock with praise, which had pretty much an identical console-centric controle scheme to the undeservedly hated Deus Ex 2!

More importantly, the DE2 story and world were both absolutely fantastic, and very much so the continuation of the awesomeness that was DE1. If only we weren’t all so obsessed with archaic inventory and skill management with all the grace and beauty of an accountant’s spreadsheet, DE2 would have had such a massively different reception. Really, it was no more dumbed down than Bioshock. It was fantastic, but just tragically ahead of it’s time. We would have lapped it up if it had been done that way 3 years ago.

How good will the graphics look though, because from what ive heard its running on the Tomb raider underworld engine which isnt the best engine.

Bladerunner meets Ghost in the Shell, verry cool stuff.

Seriously though I can’t wait until graphics are real time play like those….anyone think next gen we will see that level presented like in this trailer as real time?

I’ve watched it 500 times too Johnny :D

@22 I don’t agree with you absolutely. It’s not just about controls. The story was bad compared to the first Deus Ex, basically the setting was not so good either. They took 3 endings and made a cataclysm.
Game was made by EX Deus Ex staff.
First patch atleast fixed many bugs and gameplay elements, but that was a major FAIL in my opinion.

@27 This: http://www.incrysis.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=791&am

is next generation for consoles.

Ya know, everyones always talking about “why cant we have a good movie based on a videogame??”

why bother with stuff as good as this – its surpassing movie experiences… kinda

ekfight is right. The movie industry as far as cinema is being taken over in video games. I can’t stand watching TV or movies now cause its always just the same recycled garbage over and over. I hope Avatar Airbender won’t be the same man.

It really is one of the best game trailers I’ve seen next to the Uncharted 2 ones.

looks like an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA production. amazing trailer! this game will probably get praise in the feuilletons as well as being the next big thing in the entertainment industry where games become suprerior and much deeper experiences than movies…and finally become art…at least that´s what i hope for. it´s square enix. it´s deus ex. what can go wrong? can´t wait for this one.

Great trailer, but it’s a little strange that the tech the main character was running around with was better than the tech you had access to in the original game.

@19 You don’t make a trailer selling icecream and then stuff it full of beer.

It’s not hard to make a trailer signify what you’re making, developers do it all the time. Clearly that isn’t where their focus is for this game.

It looks like this is going to be another pew pew lazor experience judging from that one.

@39 Not true at all because this trailer was made by Square Enix. Not by developers.
Square Enix have entire division for CGI.

Blizzard and Square Enix are two best companies for CGI trailers and this trailer is absolutely faptastic. I feel the atmosphere, now i need to be dissapointed with the gameplay XD

@42 This game screams for Anti-aliasing. I will buy PC version, even if Sony will announce exclusive DLC.
I just can’t play with this.

PS: We will get weapon customization this time. Yahoo.

That’s a great pre-rendered trailer. Now let’s see if the game itself can match up to it.

Isn’t 17 years a bit soon for the world to have turned into Blade Runner?

I’ll probably buy it for the PC as well, assuming it will run at above 30 frames. Just for ol’ time’s sake, y’know?
