Ubisoft teases “secret project” over Twitter [Update]

usbisecretproject

Update: Ubisoft’s just assured us that this is a “non-game-related project”. The publisher’s saying nothing else about it right now.

Original: Ubisoft has released some teaser artwork for a “secret project” it has in the works, and before you ask, it has “nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood”.

That’s according to the official tweet from UbiWorkshop, which has linked to the artwork created by illustrator Grzegorz Domaradzki, a.k.a Gabz, and a website.

Domaradzki also worked on the cover art for Bloodlines.

What the secret project is, well, that is unknown or else it would not be a secret really. That’s our powers of deduction working overtime right there.

The project came to light thanks to tweets regarding it between Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl who are both apparently illustrators on the project.

We’ll mail Ubisoft, but we really don’t expect anything concrete yet.

Maybe E3.

Probably Red Steel 3 for Playstation Move, if they keep trying one of them is bound to be a success…

I’d love if this were for the Prince of Persia reboot game that nobody else seemed to like. :(

There’s a big “AC” crest in the background, so I don’t think that’s an accident. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t another of the lineage. With his friend the eagle, there, it reminds a bit of the Oded Fehr character in the Mummy movie. But what could those little triangles scattered here, and there be about?

Where the heck is the Assassin’s Creed logo?

Yeah, its Assassins Creed. Notice the red thing just under his fist to the left? Its a hidden blade covered in blood. Also the pic is called “Assassin_by_Gabz”.

@2

I really liked the reboot too. I would have much rather had a sequel to it than the shoddy Sands of Time clone they rushed out to coincide with the flop in the cinemas at the moment.

@7: Take a peek at the diamond-shaped symbol at the top. It has the letters “AC” in it.

I’d assume this is Asassin’s Creed 3, although perhaps that’s a bit too obvious. There’s a lot of things in the image which fit with the series, though, and I can’t imagine Ubisoft looking to create a new, parallel IP when they have an existing multi-million selling franchise to build on.

Isn’t that really obviously an Assassin’s Creed game?

There’s a big “AC” in the background and he’s got a blade coming out of his wrist.

Anyone know what the tweets between the illustrators contained? Seems a bit drastic to put all this out just because some illustrators went tweeting.

Egypt era kinda sucky if you ask me for Assassins Creed game…

They will probably use 1550−1070 BC as an Eighteenth Dynasty that was the most popular part in Egypt.

If they will make Egypt, the best time for it is an Ottoman Era, but i doubt if they will use it.

40-50 BC would also be interesting, with Cleopatra, Julius Ceasar and the Battle of the Nile.

Ubisoft really are milking Ac arent they? if they turn it into a annual franchise they are stupid like really stupid.

Interesting that he’s holding a head, if it is AC.
I always thought AC was quite brutal in the moves you could perform but lacked gore so the effect never felt complete, imo.

Eagle, Egypt, Assassin, AC Crest, what more could you ask for?

Even the clothing/armour looks very similar to previous AC games.

Non-game related? Meh, of little interest then. Probably some sort of comic series.

@23 Yes. If you clink on the names in the post up there you will see two of the fellas work with comics and the other is an illustrator – whose main site is also linked up there, and whose art is very very cool imo.
