ArenaNet’s global brand director Chris Lye has revealed where folks will be able to get a look at Guild Wars 2.
Hint: It’s not at E3.
Calling E3 an “anti-fan” event, Lye said that the game will make an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, gamescom in Germany, and PAX Prime in Seattle instead of the California convention.
“I’m happy to announce that we will unveil the first public hands-on demo of Guild Wars 2 at gamescom in Cologne, Germany,” said Lye on the firm’s blog.
“If you want to be the first in your guild to play GW2 (and you’re in Europe), this is the show to attend.”
Hands-on time will be available at PAX in Seattle as well, but it looks like Cologne will be the place to be in August for a GW fan.
San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 22-25, gamescom August 19-22 and PAX Prime September 3-5.
The game is slated for 2011, with a Beta expected sometime this year.
