Source – David Cage casting for “Horizon”

davidcage

VG247 has learnt that Heavy Rain’s David Cage is now casting for a project called “Horizon,” said to be centred on a twenty-something couple.

We were told the plot involves “a curious man raised very insularly meeting a free woman who is hesitant to exercise her freedom.”

Last bit: it’s just been hinted to us that the whole thing is science fiction.

The call is to take place in LA, and no shooting location has been specified. Sony’s the publisher, apparently.

Cage has already ruled out the idea of a Heavy Rain sequel, casting doubts on a follow-up as early as August last year.

The French developer said in March that Quantic’s next game is “already written”.

He added that he new project will be “very different, and I think it’s going to be very surprising,” and that you may be waiting “less than you think” to see it first hand.

E3? Fingers crossed.

Sci-Fi?!… David Cage you tease ;)

As much as I’d like if the premise was set in reality, I doubt the concept would work well in game form if it wasn’t for the Sci-Fi twist.

I smell a Sony buyout of Quantic Dreams… They have that Sony vibe and i think Sony would greatly benefit from adding QD to their first party studios…

sweet :)

i love quantic dream overall even if IP and HR both had weird endings or plot holes respectively. Sony should buy these guys.

@5 Absolutely agree. Sony like to make cinematic experience stuff. So Quantic Dream should be a great thing for their first party.

Quantic Dream’s overheads might be too much for Sony to cope with. They have that big mo-cap set don’t forget, and Naughty Dog already have a big mo-cap set themselves.

Really? So this plot is supposed to make for a great game? This guy is fucking crazy! (and not in a good way btw)

Sony San Diego have a mo-cap studio too. I think given the success and support Sony gave Heavy Rain, Cage will stay loyal to Sony (at least giving them first refusal, which they’re not going to decline). A Sony buyout would complete SCEE for me.

Look at the studios SCEE are already partnered with, add QD to that and it’s basically a dream-team.

It sounds almost like a romantic drama from that snippet lol

Even if it was I would be interested to see how it is handled. Say what you will about Cage he does like to push gaming as a medium for storytelling as far as he can and I respect that.

Now, Molyneux on the other hand….

@13

I think this ‘Horizon’ project may be the reason why.

Cage seemed rather determined to focus on other things after HR.
