Interview: Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Jake Neri

jakeneri

If someone were to say that Star Wars: The Old Republic was a highly anticipated game, the prize for understatement of the year would be handed to over them.

Ever since it was revealed through an interview EA CEO John Riccitiello did during E3 2008, MMO players and Star Wars fans alike have been itching to get their hands on it, and the fervor has grown steadily with each passing year as BioWare tries to placate us with its trickle of information and assets.

Once in a while, the game is shown to press outlets at events like GDC, and most recently, EA’s spring showcase in London this week.

VG247′s Joe Anderson went to have a chat with the game’s executive producer at Lucasarts, Jake Neri, whom – if you recall – we spoke with back in March.

Read on below the break and see if he has any new nuggets of information for you.

Red Dead Redemption launch trailer released

RDR

Rockstar has sent over the launch trailer for Red Dead Redemption, and honestly, we don’t know what else to say about the game that hasn’t already been said.

Suffice it to say, “we wants it Precious”, and we will get it next week when it hits the local shops. We may have to pawn a few bits of jewelry here and there to get it, but hopefully it will be worth it.

We’re joking, obviously.

Enjoy the kick-ass video below the break, and try not to squeal with too much delight.

Fable III’s interface discussed in new dev diary

johncleese

Lionhead has put out a new developer diary for Fable III, and in it, Peter Molyneux discusses the game’s interface, and sillywalks with special guest John Cleese – who will be your butler in the game.

According to Molyneux, action and adventure “go hand in hand” this time out, with not only a revamped control scheme and dynamic 3D maps making sure you are “always in the action” and immersed in the experience.

“It’s such an exciting time because we’re actually changing Fable III,” says Molyneux in the video below. “We’re moving more towards the action-adventure and we’re diminishing a little bit the RPG.

“We still love RPGs, we still adore RPGs but we also love the drama and excitement that action-adventure brings.”

Watch for yourself.

Fable III’s due out by the end of the year for 360
