CoD: Black Ops will have dedicated servers, confirms Treyarch
Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will have dedicated servers for the PC version of the shooter.

Analyst: Nintendo to sell 5 million 3DS units by March 2011

First Alan Wake DLC episode popping out and shouting ‘boo!’ in July
“Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman Wake.” Wrong game quote, sure, but nearly as apt, considering how long we’ve been watching Alan Wake’s release date slip and slide about.
Fortunately, it looks as though the wait for Wake’s next nightmarish adventure will be nearly non-existent by comparison.

The NPD Group has issued its industry results from April, and it looks like the market as a whole was down 26 percent to $766.2M, and is down year-to-date by 11 percent.

Sony has responded to tonight’s NPD results from April, stating that PS3 continues to be “the only hardware console to see double digit growth”.

NPD April 2010: Microsoft – 360 sales contributed $204M spent for the month
Microsoft has responded to tonight’s NPD release for the month of April, citing the strong sales of Xbox 360- exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction, and its hardware sales topping 185K units for the month, which is up six percent year-over-year.

NPD April 2010 software: Conviction tops with 486K units sold
The monthly NPD numbers are out, and on the software side, Xbox 360 exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction was tops with 486K units sold, followed by Pokemon Soul/Silver in second place, moving 242.9K units.

Dead Space 2: Don’t worry, Isaac won’t be “Chatty Cathy” in it
One of the interesting things gamers have learned since the announcement of Dead Space 2, was that not only would players get to see Isaac once in a while, but that he would speak as well.
VG247 was present at EA’s spring showcase in London this week, and we asked executive producer Steve Papoutsis how Isaac has evolved from the silent and unseen hero, to having his face and voice thrust into the spotlight.
