5 million PSN accounts now active in Japan

psnlogo2

SCEJ’s announced that over 5 million PSN accounts are now active in Japan.

The firm’s announced that to celebrate the news, anyone who is a user on the network  in the country will be entered into a draw to win a Sony Bravia 3D TV. Obviously, the offer is only valid in the region.

500 specifically picked people will also get free Home goodies to celebrate the news, with more details to come on June 3. All items in the service will be on sale by 50 percent in Japan.

If you’re of the Japanese-reading type, you can find the news here.

Wow that is very impressive number! I would agree, SONY will surpass Xbox’s sales soon and will become gaming empire!

5M just in Japan, soon when MOVE comes out, as well Subscription based PSN the numbers all over the world will increase by 30-40%

Also Xbox really needs to drop PAY to PLAY feature. PSN will always be free to play and have all the features it currently has now for FREE. SO I think Microsoft should At least give basic functions and FREE play for all members just to keep up… But do not forget PS3′s Great 2010 and 2011 lineup.

PlayStation will be the king once again.

Japan don’t play online much with consoles right? So I’m not surprised at all. If there’s only 5 million on PSN then there must only be 500 on Xbox live :P
