Atari reports revenue loss of 15% for the year

atarilogo

Atari has released its financial results for the year ending on March 31, and the company has posted revenues of $142.5 million, which is down by over 15 percent from the previous year.

The company also posted a 12-month net loss of $23.9 million with net profits at $4.7 million for the second half the fiscal year.

Sales were down due to the company’ stance on releasing fewer games, but one’s deemed to be more profitable such as sales leaders Backyard Football 2010, Champions Online, Ghostbusters, and Star Trek Online.

Online sales were up 11 percent compared to 2 percent the prior year, due to the aforementioned MMOs.

You can get the full report through Atari’s corporate site, if you are interested.

Thanks, Gamespot.

I cannot say I am shocked I haven’t really heard about Atari releasing a game other than Ghostbusters but that was 1yr+ ago.
