Square has announced that Front Mission Evolved will hit the US on September 14 on PS3, Xbox 360, and in 3D on PC.

It was originally slated for spring.

The game contains a single-player campaign, along with four different multiplayer modes and customizable wanzers.

“Both Square Enix and Double Helix Games are committed to delivering the ultimate, evolved Front Mission experience,” said VP of marketing Ami Blaire in the announcement.

“This installment advances the franchise into the third-person shooter genre, and come fall, fans will be blown away by the high-octane action.”

The PC version will also be made available as a digital download, and through Steam upon release.

I prefer SRPG Front Mission, Square-Enix. I’ll be passing on this. :-)

Same here, Squares obviously wanted to ‘westernize’ this and i’m sure it’ll only lead to poor sales all round, in Japan and the west.

But hey; Atleast they arent shooting themselves in the foot and making it 360 exclusive like their other games.

Theres a difference between ‘taking hints’ and completely changing a games genre. And anyway, i myself never said that about FF, because i dont give a shit about FF.

I loved the SRPG Front Mission games and wasn’t keen on the idea of them moving to this kind of title. However, I could have been convinced that it was a good move if it wasn’t for the fact that everything we’ve seen so far looks completely shit! Seriously, Squenix – what the hell are you thinking?
