Halo: Reach confirmed for September 14 release, beta played by 2.7 million

The AP’s reporting that Bungie’s confirmed release dates for the western and Japanese versions of Halo: Reach, adding that 2.7 million people played game’s beta, which has now ended.
Reach will release on September 14 in the west and September 15 in Japan.
Players collectively logged more than 16 million hours and more than 1.1 billion virtual kills during the 18-day beta, said the firm.
Bungie had already said that it saw more people log onto the Reach beta in one day than it did in the entire Halo 3 beta.
The developer extended the test for a day.
The September 14 date was rumoured back in March.

Earlier than I thought it would be.

That’s good news. As Cullen just said to me, surprised they didn’t wait till E3 with this.

Yeah I was thinking that. I think Sony will now be able to plan a GT5 release date that doesn’t clash to announce at E3.

@4 Is that the PS4 release date? :O Coolio!
I didn’t spend as much time as I would of liked with the beta, but what I did play was pretty fun.
Should be alright, this.

Damn I was thinking more of October or November release. I never been a big fan of the Halo series, but I did get a chance to play the Halo:Reach beta and it was pretty good.

So, it looks like they’re launching reach before natal, to get it out of natal’s way. But it’ll still sell gangbusters regardless!

Properly pumped for Reach now.
With the date now announced, there really is no other big date announcements in place now for E3… except GT5, obviously.
Road’s now clear, basically put.

October for GT5? Johnny?
Everyone knows that Reach will shoot it’s load first week so anytime after 21st Sept will do nicely

Now with the jetpack there is a whole new vertical plane of combat. You have to watch your six as well as above you. This changed the gameplay so much. And I think its great! Cant wait until Fall to play you on multi and pummel you like little girls. Seeya then n00bs.

I’m probably gonna get some hate from saying this, but I really don’t see what’s so great about this game. I also played the beta and after playing Halo 1,2 and 3, I’m very bored of the Halo gameplay now.
I was very excited for this game, but after experiencing the beta, I can safely say I would much rather play the other shooters that are coming out this year.
