One thing that Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 has proved to me is that xbox 360 is in a league of it’s own when it comes down to graphics.

I’m on the fence with this one. It looks fantastic and obviously the reviews confirm, but something about westerns that just don’t excite me.

I only just realised today that I hadn’t preordered this…I was convinced I had! Now I’m going to have to wait till Friday/Saturday to play it instead of tomorrow

As it stands, it simply amuses me that people go bonkers over a game being “sub-HD”. That’s me calling out the general trend of criticizing the Wii – a trend also present here, by the way – when their “next gen” consoles are also in the same boat. Because if people can only appreciate games through their high-tech visuals, it’s certainly them who need to “fuck off” somewhere else and let the medium grow based on its natural merits. RDR is a fine game, whether it’s running on 1080, 720 or what have you Xp.

God of War III didn’t prove anything the only thing it proved was it runs at 20fps and 7hrs game-play = massive failure.
Uncharted is nothing new Gears of War 2 surpassed that ages ago. Like i said ps3 is not all that when it comes down to graphics.

We’ve had a bit of a rash of annoying X360 and PS3 fanboys here of late and quite frankly I wish they’d take their diatribes elsewhere.

@Gerrit: No problem, people get into heated arguments once in a while over videogames. We love them, and it’s understandable I was a bit confrontational too, but this has to do with what I said before regarding that attitude.

As pointless as this argument is, yes I agree Gears was ground breaking graphically for it’s time and no other game this gen has broken as much ground since (on consoles) BUT it has been surpassed by U2, GowIII and even matched by MGS4, so don’t bring your xbox superiority crap here because I have both consoles and trust me the PS3 is no slouch.

I can’t wait for Red Dead Redemption. Two more days before i can lay my hands on the disc!

I took the day off work yesterday and put in about 12 hrs into this game. It’s one of the few games that I feel is fully worthy of my money. Only played the single player so far. I was shocked at how nice the graphics are. The character models, including the horses are amazingly detailed. (360 version)

@22. you are a sadist telling me that…i´ll have to wait for my uk preorder (i´m berlin based) until friday or even saturday (which would be really bad, cause i visit friends in the morning for breakfast and then i´ll go for a walk wit da dog with them and then i have to – and want to – go to a little vernisage of a arty friend of mine – i´ll return home late – and probably will be too drunk to play – but the worst part is that all day long i will know that the game is waiting for me – this is too much to take for just one man)
